this is fairly tuned 7800x3d + 4090, -20 co, 8000c34 2x24gb. scored over 30k in Port Royal just before running this bench so about the most I've been able to squeeze out of this hardware combo. fresh install of 24h2 latest LCU. i think i matched the settings? just chose 1280x720 for resolution and only changed first drop down in graphics settings to the standard (laptop) preset, didn't touch anything else. that 9800x3d score is a 28.8% improvement, so like spot on to the other comparables (cb23 mt is 28.9% higher than my best, cheesed 7800x3d score of 19594 at -40 CO) . This is actually insane

Good morning,

This is my 5800x3d with -25 CO with 7900xtx on Win 10.
Nice. Yeah it seems it's not that GPU limited. My 5800x3d with -30 CO all cores (4550 Mhz max clocks) with RTX 4090 only did 33504 (despite giving a OK cinebench score of 14256):

I guess switching the GPU also plays a role (though I did use DDU). Nevertheless will try to clean some more and install updates and try again.

Whichever way you slice it, the 9900X3D score seems reallly good

There is some Xitter chatter about the 9800 X3D potentially having the cache die UNDER the CCD this time, but it’s mostly stemming from AMD marketing Zen 5 X3D as being “reimagined “.
Yeah, i still find it hard to believe. But if this were the case i wonder if it would also be possible that the X3D chips are more different than we think? E.g. having full bandwidth to every CCD, etc ...

Some saying that the 62K score was using chilled water.
MORA Lisa more likely, but in games your cooling quality doesn't really matter even with the current 'thick structural silicon on top' x3d
How do 4 5800X3D get 33k, 37k, 40k and 42k lol ?
There are some actually CPU bound parts of the benchmark, while other segments (like the dungeon/raid and various parts of the world exploration) are basically capped at whatever framerate your GPU can produce (my 6900xt was consuming 300W+ even with all settings to minimum and upscaling enabled @ 1024x768)

OK two more tests :

- fullscreen, all background apps closed : 37569 (no screenshot sorry)
- windowed, after fullscreen test, still all closed : 38471
- as a reminder, my previous score 37070 (second run after a very bad one with many browsers/crap opened that gave like 28k)

I'm too lazy to do more runs, but it seems doing at least two runs back to back and closing every active app + tray stuff (steam, etc...) can give dividends. (+1500 pts total here)
