Wow. You must've gotten the rare untainted samples! Good for you.For those who might wonder neither of my 13700k showed degradation and i stress tested them and got no errors.
By the way, which mobos were hosting them?

A z790 hero and a z790 strix e i think. The strix i put in my aunts pc with a 12900k. The z790 hero is going on ebay. Maybe because I don't overclock is why I didn't see any degradation but it still worried me in the back of my mind.Wow. You must've gotten the rare untainted samples! Good for you.

Maybe now's a good time to post the 720p Final Fantasy Dawntrail standard laptop score with your Bulldozer so we can see what kind of CPU performance uplift you get with the 9800X3D 🙂says delivery of the 19th.
When I ordered my x870e from Amazon it said 2 days as well. Then after I checked it switched to Tuesday of next week. I canceled and ordered from newegg. That's why I check my orders shipping times with amazon.Amazon shipped the 9800X3D yesterday... by ground shipping due in 6 days.
I triple checked the invoice clearly states one-day shipping. They keep doing this to me. I swear my account was flagged as "ignore promised shipping speed and aways ship slowest possible method"
I feel like making a complaint will be about as effective as old man Simpson yelling at the cloud.
I just ordered memory from them several identical items (I thought) and I saw next day delivery. But when my cart came up, it was 5 days !! Then I went back to the list. ONE was next day, the rest were not. So I deleted the item from my cart, went back and carefully selected the next day. That was my experience.Amazon shipped the 9800X3D yesterday... by ground shipping due in 6 days.

The difference here is that you're being notified before purchase about the difference in promise time. My post-sales invoice states one-day day shipping. I already paid and Amazon has given this sales contract to me in writing, yet they've chosen to ignore it.I just ordered memory from them several identical items (I thought) and I saw next day delivery. Thats a first. Is this in the US ?The difference here is that you're being notified before purchase about the difference in promise time. My post-sales invoice states one-day day shipping. I already paid and Amazon has given this sales contract to me in writing, yet they've chosen to ignore it.
Yep. They've been doing this to me for a while, so I stopped ordering anything I really care about/expensive items/urgent stuff from them. Kind of disappointed this is where I got a 9800X3D ordered from, but since it went into fulfillment right after I ordered it last week it's been uncancelable.Thats a first. Is this in the US ?
Perfect !Haven't built a rig in half a decade but this cpu convinced me it was enough to do another motherboard/ram trifecta so I just placed an order on Amazon and will likely pick up a board and ram on black friday. Is cas30 ddr5 6000 speed enough for gaming for this thing?
Oh yes it is. It may even run faster than normal coz of your good looks 😛Is cas30 ddr5 6000 speed enough for gaming for this thing?

I think I will still be GPU limited but point me to link for this test I'll see what I can do.
quick info, first run was whatever default was which was 1080p high, was 9xxx somewhere in there.![]()

With the 9800X3D, I think it should go to minimum 45000.
MSI MPG Carbon has the highest RAM OC I know of so it must be a good quality board. Will pretty much any 800 series motherboard be able to overclock the 9800X3D?
Yes and No. Since the only boards released so far are X870 yes they should be able to OC the 9800X3D. However when the rest of the boards get released the B850 will OC, while the B840 series will NOT be able to OC any CPU.Will pretty much any 800 series motherboard be able to overclock the 9800X3D? I am doing a white rgb build (don't hate on me) so it is a bit of a premium, but beyond that I don't really want to have to blow half a grand on a board if it's mostly just more high usb inputs or something.
I recently gave a shot to buying XMP ram. It didn't go well. Something no one knows or talks about is not all PMICs are supported properly by agesa, and buying an EXPO kit guarantees you get something that is supported and will work.I decided Im gonna grab a MSI MPG Carbon for my build, seems solid with the right IO I desire. (50$ steam credit to offset price to 450$)
Maybe a Asrock Nova but the Carbon is going to be my 1st choice.
Would I be dumb to buy ram w/o expo profiles? I like GSkill but the 96GB kits dont have expo configs.
Im not gonna go crazy on speed just 6400 (Maybe 6800).
