I do not like the cel shaded style graphics too much. Yeah it's different but not what I expected or wanted.
I think alot of people pre ordered so they could get the other two games also, not wanting to miss a "good" deal.
As far as "The whole kid-oriented thing is out the window now. Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 0-4, Killer 7, P.N. 03, TimeSplitters 2, Soul Caliber 2, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid, etc.. etc... "
How many of those games were MADE by Nintendo?
Metroid Prime basically right? The games Nintendo actually makes ARE still very kiddie orientated IMHO.
Does it matter whether Nintendo makes them or not?
It is absurd to deny the kid-oriented aspects of Nintendo, but to me, that's the beauty of it. And these "kid" games are pretty good actually.
The point is that there are also very "adult-oriented" games for it also, some of which are EXCLUSIVE to GameCube.

This old chestnut gets right on my wick. Everytime a good game comes out for the Cube, you get all this, "Yeah, well the cube is just for kids. Only got kids games on it. No blood an' sh!t. No adult games, blah blah.
You know who says this? Kids. Who are the first demographic group to avoid something because of it's association with youth or children? Pre-pubescent boys who want to act older than they are.
Adults have no problems playing games in general and can see past this issue.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the cel-shaded Zelda and never will be. I still would have preferred a realistic looking Zelda regardless of how well cel-shading has seem to have fit the environment.Seriously, no 3D computer graphics are even close to life-like or realistic. None. So, you can either play a good looking computer graphics game like plenty of other games, or you can get immersed in a cartoon world. I think this is what they were going for...total immersion into a cartoon world. Personally, I like it. But hey, to each their own.

I would venture so far as to say that nearly everyone that does preorder WindWaker already owns a copy of OoT. its not that big of an incentive. More of a collecters item than anything.
