I preordered my weeks or maybe even a full month ago now and my local Software ETC said they were already out of the bonus discs and weren't getting any more in. I e-mailed Nintendo directly on the matter and the best they could do was offer me a one year Nintendo Power subscription with the disc for like $130 or something. I think it's BS. No were does it say "while supplies last" or a cutoff date of availability for the disc. Anyone who knows where they still have 'em, I'll pre-order through there. This has pissed me off for weeks now, but I've been too busy buying a house and working to really dig in and fight for it.

Wal-Mart was taking pre-orders the last time I checked (a couple days ago). You could pre-order by putting $10 down and then they gave you the bonus discs I believe.

Okay, I'll have to look locally at Wal-Mart then and see if they're still offering. Thanks for the tip.

ok i have a question about zelda. i never really got into the series (only played some of the n64 game) and was wondering how the different games storylines fit together. does link save the princess in every one and fight the same bad guy? is each story take place as if the previous never happened? or do the storylines go continuously and he just has to save the princess a bunch?

Each game is intended to stand on it's own with primarily the same story each time with a few variations for variety.

Yea, with Wind Waker, Miyatmo basically talked about how the games stand on their own basically, that there is always a new link that rises to beat evil. Some take place ealier then others though, like OoT takes place when Ganon is just Ganandorf, before he shape shifts into what we know him as.

OoT was/is unbelievably good, such a huge game, great graphics...so nice to play on the GameCube, while they didn't remaster much of it (ala original Resident Evil), the resolution increase looks nice :)

You're assuming that the people who buy Nintendo products do so to play more games such as Halo.

I was at compusa and they had a demo for the game - you could play 3 levels or something. I was pissed cause the controller was broken so I couldn't make link walk anywhere

Yea, stores have a bad habit of replacing controllers after 4 year olds beat the crap out of 'em...

Think Final Fantasy, except it follows one character.

actually zelda has more coherence than ff,

in zelda (usually) all of these characters are present: link, the fairy, ganon, zelda (the queen), and usually most of the monster is the same (stalfos, the knight, etc)

in ff the characters are usually different... with only a few monsters similar.

These numbers aren't really a surprise. Most people that have a Gamecube have been awaiting Zelda since they bought the system.

I played the demo the other night at Babbage's. Controls seemed to work great and seeing it in motion is really cool. The game looks so good and is so fluid.

I think you're right. I know I've been looking forward to getting a hold of this game for a long time now. :)

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the cel-shaded Zelda and never will be. I still would have preferred a realistic looking Zelda regardless of how well cel-shading has seem to have fit the environment.

However, I'm sure it will still be a great game as gameplay is always the most important feature of any game, and thus I pre-ordered it.

likewise... cel shading is a sweet concept but i had an image of the next zelda game being ultra realistic with blood and guts flying everytime you swung the sword at an enemy, so i cant help but be a little dissapointed in the cel shading decision. But it does play very nice (i played the demo)

and i still pre-ordered it :D

I do not like the cel shaded style graphics too much. Yeah it's different but not what I expected or wanted.

I think alot of people pre ordered so they could get the other two games also, not wanting to miss a "good" deal.

As far as "The whole kid-oriented thing is out the window now. Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 0-4, Killer 7, P.N. 03, TimeSplitters 2, Soul Caliber 2, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid, etc.. etc... "

How many of those games were MADE by Nintendo?

Metroid Prime basically right? The games Nintendo actually makes ARE still very kiddie orientated IMHO.

Does it matter whether Nintendo makes them or not?

It is absurd to deny the kid-oriented aspects of Nintendo, but to me, that's the beauty of it. And these "kid" games are pretty good actually.

The point is that there are also very "adult-oriented" games for it also, some of which are EXCLUSIVE to GameCube.

Does anyone know if you get the bonus disc if you order it from buy.com? It's $49.99 with free shipping!
