Taken from news:
Zelda The Wind Waker has broken the half million mark for pre-orders 2
weeks before it's even released. At around 560,000 and climbing.
A rep for Electronic Boutique says that it has outpaced pre-orders for
Grand Theft Auto 3, which seems a bit odd to me. What did GTA3 wind up
selling within a week of it's release ? Seems like I remember it
selling over a Million pretty fast. Maybe the pre-orders are happening
at a slightly faster rate, but I figure only time will tell if it
sells as much in a short time.
Anyway, that doesn't really matter. It's good news that Wind Waker has
already broken half a million.
I don't get all the bashers that call it celda based on the cel-shading. I for one like it. I feel like I'm actually playing a cartoon, maybe it's because I like cartoons. For instance, adult swim has a lot of funny stuff on it. Simpsons, family guy etc. Watching adult cartoons are heads and shoulders above reality TV that's for sure.
The best graphics-wise video games today look like exactly that, video games. When computer graphics reach real life likeness in the graphics department, then playing in a cartoon like environment that cel-shading provides may become silly. For now, I really don't think so.
