But what's up with Arnold refusing to debate any of the other "candidates", including Davis. Could it be that he has no idea what he's doing?? Or that he has no real platform?? I just think it's BS that he's riding his celebrity on this thing.
why risk a debate when you are winning?
He already had one debate that he won handedly

1. Jewish people were fleeing Germany because of the Holocaust. The Allies knew what was happening prior to the end of the war. I'm sure it wasn't "popular" news, funny that people to this day still try to deny it.
2. I'm not sure what US you live in but anti-Semitism has, in fact, been a issue here also. You're reading revisionist history if you think differently.

He was able to manipulate the Germans when they were weak, and they bought it.

He did?? I guess I missed that. Who was he debating?? And were the questions given to him before the debate (I heard that was a demand)??
I understand not jeoparizing a lead. Just think that he should earn it.
Schwarzenegger told reporters he has raised millions of dollars for the Simon Wiesenthal Center -- a Jewish organization that works to preserve the memory of the Holocaust -- to fight prejudice.
In a CNN interview from August, the center's founder, Rabbi Marvin Hier defended Schwarzenegger, saying he has done more to further the cause of Holocaust awareness than any other movie star

Sounds like they are making a big deal over nothing. If the Director of the Simon Weisenthal Center says Arnie is OK, how can anyone realistically argue against him?

You're welcome. The question seemed to be did the US and more importantly, Time Magazine know about the Holocaust in 1939. How could they? It hadn't happened yet.
It didn't start until late that year if you count internment. If you count mass murder, it did not start until mid-1941.
Yes, the allies had clues about the Holocaust. But no idea as to what the scale of it was. FDR didn't tell the American people when he became aware of it in '43, because he was afraid they would think the war was about saving the Jews.
And my post also proves another point. The Jews in an ashtray joke was not, and could not be a WWII joke.

He does have a point.
Hitler would be an interesting political study.
Does that make me a Nazi?
Hitler was horrible, but people today are WAY too eager to associate other people with him.
Horrible or not he was one of the most influential people of the last century.

Wow. I'm guessing this is before they found out about the concentration camps? I think think that would of changed their perspective on "Man of the Year."
Think about it, 1939...

Hitler just started his conquest of Europe then, in 1939 was when he invaded Poland.
You should study history some more, I'm thinking.
Jan 2, 1939 was about 8 months before the invasion of Poland (Sept 1, 1939) Austria was already annexed by this point, but that was seemingly a very willing merger.

Time magazines man of the year has historically shown someone or something that has shown great impact and not necessarily a good impact.

He was nuts long before he rose to power.
