It' s being said to a person who is disgusting. He is disgusting because he ridicules any and all who don't agree with what he thinks. Most world leaders are world leaders because they are more capable than just anybody so it's quite likely, in my opinion, they indeed see him as disgusting.

I think that when a person has no moral standards and uses his words to make others feel bad, he needs to be put in his place because his behavior is disgusting and he's just hearing a truth about himself that he lies all the time and accuses other people being.

People just call people disgusting when a person's actions make those people feel disgust. People are a bit lazy when using language. You're disgusting is much easier to say that they way you act makes me want to gag. It's also more ego satisfying because people don't really like to think about where the disgust is. When people say beauty is in the eye of the beholder they mean beauty is a matter of opinion. So is disgust. But with Trump he almost defines disgusting as the opinion is so widely shared.

Hadn't really thought about it much but seems fair to me since DJT opened the door up with his "Orban says I'm a strong man too." 🤣

OTOH it's widely credited as pure genius, but her quip that changed the debate was when she said his rally attendees often leave early out of boredom is perhaps more of "hitting below the belt." While it's certainly possible (how the fuck could you listen to his drivel for an hour? But alas, MAGAts do.) that some do leave, I don't think that's ever been reported before. He never regained his footing after that verbal knockdown.

There are many more firefighter/EMTs units than EMS crews. Every department I am familiar with (and having been a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years, and have a grandson that is a Firefighter/Paramedic it's a few) the minimum requirement to be hired is firefighter certifications, and EMT certification (or higher).

Statistics clearly show that trained medical response sooner saves lives.

In my area, there are about 20+ EMS units staffed with Paramedics. At any time, many of those are busy taking care of patients or at the hospital transferring a patient to the hospital staff.

Conversely, there are probably 80–90+ firefighter/EMT crews that are within a closer distance to a person having a medical emergency, and can begin life-saving care minutes early.

But if you still view it as "the god damnedest thing" then tell the 911 dispatcher not to send the fire department when your loved one is having a heart attack, not breathing, or bleeding out...

Doesn't that just suggest that it would be sensible to just train more paramedics and get more ambulances?
Over here paramedics are highly trained at emergency life support and treatment, firefighters are trained in fighting fires and rescues.


I missed the cost discussion earlier in the thread so I'll put this here.
Was at the beach for a bit of a walk the other day and a guy had a fall off the slipway and fairly obviously broke his leg. Wasn't life threatening but looked bloody painful. The beach is about 40 minutes by blue light ambulance to the "big" hospital.
Two ambulances turned up, one motorbike paramedic and then the air ambulance swooped over and landed on the beach. Just wondering if you'd get billed for all that in the states? Two ambulances, one motorbike, and a helicopter. Probably 7 paramedics, an A&E doctor and critical care nurse, helicopter pilot and the local coast guard doing crowd control for the helicopter landing.

Yes. He was a terrible candidate and McConnell told Thiel that if he wanted him to win that Thiel would have to put up all the money in because the Rs won't. Really should have been a layup election for a competent R but he turned in a worse performance than any other winning R senate candidate there in like a quarter century.

Picking him as VP has been a predictably dreadful mistake but that's what happens when you listen to Don Jr and Musk.

Im not sure what the big deal is. They do eat cats and dogs in other parts of the world, just not in America. But I think if the stuff hit the fan and people are resorting to ingesting any kind of protein just to stay alive, on top of the menu will be dogs, snakes, rats, cats, bats and insects. Its all edible.

The big deal here is that once again, conservatives in the United States are singling out a vulnerable minority group who live in the United States with lies to foster some good old fashioned hatred. What people do or do not do outside the US has no bearing here.

More ambulances staffed with Paramedics requires more tax dollars.

I can only speak for fire departments locally, minimum requirement to be hired is FF II & EMT Certification. Departments pay extra for EMT-Intermediate, and Paramedic Certifications.

In the states, you (and your insurance) will be billed for the ambulance. My only ambulance ride was covered 100% by insurance. Helicopter rides are pricey, and insurance does pay, but I don't know at what level. No CG here in the mountains, so the FD and Law enforcement secure the landing zone for the helicopter. A number of rural FD's have even setup helipads at their station. The fire department is not billing for services.

The shitty thing about that was Tim Ryan was pretty much the best candidate you could have in that race, who is reasonable and speaks bluntly. He was a moderate Dem and he would’ve been infinitely better than that sad sack of flesh.
