That is the key point that media is mostly glossing over … just how easy it was to manipulate Trump. Just verbally take away his toys, and he starts screaming like a 2 year old.

And Trump literally bragged about the flip side of how easy he is to manipulate via flattery, bragging about how great Victor Orban and other dictators said he was.
Agreed, sadly very few will connect the dots regarding this. He is far too easily manipulated and that makes him weak and unfit to serve.

There really never has been a more dangerous human being threatening to hold the office.
Wonder how we can communicate that to the public at large.
If they do not already care... do they even have the capacity to receive that message?

Maybe this is where single issue voters come in. Disconnected, unconcerned... except for a pet project. Like the economy, or betrayal of Afghan allies. Some particulars Harris cannot control do some real damage. She'd need soundbite style explanations to help balm those wounds. To try and speak to those who DGAF if Trump constantly vows to become dictator.

What may be most remarkable is the absolute silence out of any Democrat about her embracing sundry Republicans who oppose Trump, bragging about oil production, US military strength, and all manner of other stuff that in another cycle would have provoked internal party backlash. Nobody is saying a god damed word because the party has collectively decided upon making the switch that winning the election is the absolute number one priority above all else. She can say whatever she needs to in service of that goal.
Proof as of 2 hours ago.
At like they’re still waiting for their talking points to be issued.

I tuned in a couple of minutes after it started. Kamala looked nervous. Trump spewed a bunch of bullshit. Kamala didn't call out his bullshit, and so I turned it off. Glad to see she calmed down and it ended up going very well. I'm enjoying the highlights so far. Also:

Just read “Trump team not committed to future debates”
Harris camp should hump this image until he commits to one.
Could become the new Chicken George
I don’t think Harris should do another debate. She made her point with this one. Another debate would only serve to give Trump a larger audience than he can pull on his own. The strategy remains getting out the vote. Harris needs to shake babies and kiss hands and keep rallying the base.

Yeah she started slow but got into her groove, thankfully.

She absolutely obliterated him. There's no other way to spin this. He brought out the most nonsensical bullshit, citing "I saw someone on tv" as proof, discredited the FBI's findings on violent crime, Haitians eating pets, how the fuck can anyone consider him a viable candidate is beyond me.
@Greenman @imported_tajmahal et al.
Explain how you can support this person
It's pretty simple. His stated policies are more in line with my beliefs than Harris.

I don't think you have anything to be concerned about as I don't see Trump winning the election.

lol what policies? His non existent health care plan? His high tariffs that would raise the cost of goods for everyone? His non existent border security plan (or is he still talking about the wall?). He said he’s not touching abortion so there is no plan there.

So what policies are you talking about?

While I don't question your statement about your own beliefs, I do find it difficult to imagine that Trump's policies, what little he has bothered to or has been capable of articulating, could possibly align with your self interest.

Please ignore all the people who are just here to insult you.

What are these policies? He didn't lay out much of any policy last night. When pushed on specifics, for example, he said he had a concept of a plan, for something he has supposedly been working on for 9 years (ACA replacement).

The main policy Greenman likes is Trump's commitment to making life worse for people Greenman does not approve of. If those policies also make life worse for him, that's a price he is willing to pay.

It might be the one where he sells out America in exchange for financial benefits to his family.

Honestly my thought too. There is nothing that the former president offers except making life in America worse for most people. They don’t even have the old “but the deficit” excuse to hide behind because Trump will (and did already) blow it up worse than Harris to give money to rich people.

I might make enough money that Trump would be better for me (it would probably be a wash). However my own financial self-interest--within reason of course--is just one of many factors.

I find almost every policy position of not just Trump but the Republicans abysmal.

Trump's policies from what he's said so far have been: mass deportation, rollback of environmental protections (he talks a lot about banning electric cars, wtf), and tariffs. But from his first term, he'll be bringing in unqualified carpetbagging toadies who have sucked up to him to ransack various depts, like Scott Pruitt and Ben Carson. He'll allow and support a nationwide abortion ban. There probably will be tax cuts for the ultra-rich and less regulation to please the ultra-rich corporation owners. And anyone can read project 2025, which is going to be at least attempted to put into place under their dupe Trump. Anyone saying otherwise is a liar, there are far too many connections between Trump and Vance to those people.

i guess that all appeals to some. Personally anyone who finds all this attractive, or who starts their terrified whining about "migrants", can suck rocks. Those I know in real life know to shut the fuck up with these attitudes around me, or they'll find themselves out of my life. Which has been the decision for some, including some family. Good riddance. Those I can't avoid thankfully keep their gobs shut and we do our work/music/etc without discussing it. I think I'm past the point of "let's all get along". No, how about lets not.
