I can't speak to the height issues with the Camaro though; I have not tried to get in one yet. If that is true, it would be a major issue with the car for me (I am 6' 2''). I have plenty of room in my Z, and if a bigger car has issues with taller people, that is definitely a big drawback.
im 6'1" and there was plenty of room inside the camaro ss i sat in. i think what the above poster may have been referring to is the large door sill; IIRC, its kinda high and wide and you are sitting pretty low. im still young at 28 so it was not an issue for me. maybe if you're an old fart or are a bit hefty, getting in and out may be a chore. didnt bother me any. sitting in reminded me a lot of my 06 GTO. i miss that lower seating position of the goat. my G8 sits a little too high (plenty of headroom, the whole car is just higher up).

Makes sense. My GF always complains about the Z when she has heels on; I usually help her out of the car because it is low, and she is pretty tall. 😛

No issues for me, I like to sit low.

--edit-- to be fair I do like the looks of the Camaro, I'm just disgusted that they are building yet another 2 ton car that you can't get in if you're over 5'9"

The curb weight of the Camaro is 3750-3800 and the Mustang is 3534; that's basically just an extra person. 4000 is overstating the Camaro's weight a little bit; the 2002 Camaro was about what the Mustang currently is right now.

I too like the look of the Camaro; if they could have shaved-off a little weight, it would be a better car, but the car still handles OK, has great MPG, and decent power. Right now, this design will be popular with consumers who (mostly) would be more than happy with the power, despite the weight.

3800 is for the base stripped V6, not the V8, 4000 is actually pretty generous for the V8, its actually closer to 4200 than 4000.

I'm 6'2" too, and I have no idea how you fit in, my head smacks the roof hard as I try to get in, and would be about 6" out the top of the roof I I could sit upright. The only way I can get in the car is to lay the seat back at nearly a 45 degree angle, and then my eye level is still directly in line with the visor.

2010 Camaro SS is ~3,849 pounds according to the Chevy site and ~3,859 pounds according to Car and Driver.

So, I think it's around 3,850 pounds, give or take a few.

V6 was 3,807 pounds per C&D.

Where the hell are you getting your information from?

Yes, it takes 400 lbs to add 2 extra cylinders.

Sorry, but that's a load of BS.

Right, but the Camaro isn't much faster than the Mustang, considering it has 110 horsepower more. When the new five liter engine and a 6'er get popped in the stang next year, and a boss gets dropped in at 2012, the Camaro will be crushed utterly.

You do realize that the Camaro and Challenger meet 2012 safety ratings, and the Mustang in its current form does not, requiring it to get overhauled to meet those specs, thus adding more weight?

Also, the Mustang is the smallest of the three so that naturally will make it weigh less (all else being equal).
