Z06 and nitrous gone wrong...

That M edition of yours looks nice. Gonna need to pick one up for the summer. 😀

Thanks! I really like it, it's a blast. Hope you find a nice one for yourself.

He should have just shut it down right away! You don't lose power brakes for some time, and who needs power steering?

Man, these pictures are making their way around the Internet. It looks like they were taken a couple months ago too.

I have to wonder why he had it towed to his house, it's not like he's going to fix it, or even salvage any parts.

because he still has 67 more payments on it and Insurance won't touch it. Might as well have a nice paperwieght.

Seriously that guy is screwed. Not to mention the evidence posted on a website somewhere... Notice they don't even have a garage but they have a corvette? hmm...

I actually know that guy from SVT Performance...he is trying to get his insurance to cover it...and not telling them about the nitrous. :Q

like I said he's trying to get insurance to cover it and not tell them about the NOS...but he's screwed because the thing was modded to the hilt, and now the pics are all over the internet. At SVTP we are trying to convince him not to do it because he is going to get in trouble for fraud.

You can get an insurance company to cover mods. When I was in high school a car hit me and totaled my customized truck. At first all they wanted to do was give me book value for a an 82 S-10 ie. not much, but after my mom showed them all the receipts and argued with the for a week or more they caved and gave us a much higher amount, plus we got to keep the truck for parts. Note this was not my fault and it was the other guys insurance, but I think I would turn it in. If they say anything then argue with them for awhile. If you lose just give them the money back. No harm in trying.

Unless he was paying for those mods in his insurance premiums (which he wasn't, he never reported them), they won't pay for any damage caused by them, nor will they give him the cost of them.

I was never paying for mods, but then again it was not my insurance that had to pay out but the other guys that did.

Insurance will typically cover modifications if they are damaged during normal street use, but no street insurance I know of will cover damages that occur during track use. I've talked with my agent about this issue for my 951 since it had a larger turbo and is running 16 PSI instead of 12 PSI.

Hmm I guess it depends on the insurance company. Also it is illegal to be running Nitrous on the street in the state the guy lives in so...
