Tuesday special at Staples.com. 497474 $59.99
Seems like lots of room for not much money. Should be free shipping.

Black frame with Maple top.
Main Desk: 36 3/4"H x 47 7/8"W x 27"
Side Desk: 30"H x 32"W x 27"D
Corner Piece: 27"W x 27"D
Add-on shelf for accessories.

Pretty nice desk. My largest complaint about the desk is that the keyboard tray isn't wide enough. I prefer having a 2 to 3-foot long keyboard tray so I can have my main keyboard on there and my mice for my other 2 pcs on it as well.

Really good price for it though. 🙂

<<Anyone know if it can be setup so the wing is on the left? >>

While I am not familiar with this particular desk. I recently purchased the z-line Legacy Glass L-Desk ( Item 502739 ) which appears to be very similar.

The desk could be built so either the left or right houses the 'wing.'

I'd imagine so.

but in either case this is a pretty good deal. I was looking at this desk. The $20 off made the choice for me.

Forget this desk. If water touches the finish, then the finish starts to melt and turn green. Can't be healthy.

you have it?

Had it before replacing it with something that didn't melt and was safe for my kids and dogs.

Sounds like you need a KVM 😉

I used it for a year. It's a good desk for the price. At the end of the school year, I just moved it outside and someone took it away within 2 hours.

nice desk for the money, will be using it to replace the POS I am currently using until I graduate in December!

It seems to be a problem with Zline then since I had one of their desks and had the same problem. The wood definitely is cheap on their desks (although to be fair this IS 60bucks). I've since upgraded to an O'Sullivan.

Hmmm, I have an older z-line "L" desk and have had no water issues and I have spilt on it many times. I got mine for $70 4 years ago and have taken it apart and reassembled 4 times all-ready, not bad for cheap particle board!

I had problems with water on the bottom of cups staining the desk a bit. The desk is just particle board with wood patterned paper on top (cheap bookshelves are made like this too). When you leave a cup on the desk for too long, the paper soaks up the water, changes color, and gets a little deformed. I had one or two rings that were white-ish/green-ish in color. I just figured that's the dye in the paper dissolving or something.

i had this same desk for almsot 2 years and its def showing its wear and tear. lasted good for the money though... and it has lots of work space too.

KVMs present a problemw hen I'm using all 3 boxes at the same time (not alternating but actually using two keyboards at the same time).

have it. it's ok at best. it is made of particle board and does sag. water/oil will soak through if not cleaned quickly, creating discoloration.

*edit* clarification

I actually have this desk! So far, not bad at ALL for the $50 i paid for it a year ago. Its made of that fake compressed board though, with a stuck on paper "maple" look on the top, so if you put on tape/something sticky and try to remove it, you'll just rip off the fake maple top as if it were paper. You'd also get the "water bubbling" if you left moisture on it. (ok guys, no dirty jokes here)

But for $59.99, its a use-and-abuse desk.

As for the wing on the left, only if you modded it. If you look closely where the left legs are on the larger table, they actually fit underneath both the larger table, and the corner table. This gives the corner table stability. There's a metal bar running from the back legs of both tables under neath the corner table to support it. So you'd have to drill a holes all over this thing to flip it. Since the legs are "shared" with the corner part, then flipping would also turn around the pull out keyboard.

On my setup, i use the main larger table as my main desk, with my LCD, keyboard, mouse and joystick, and used the left part as my scanner/work place area. It works out a lot better this way. That "raised" table on the larger part I didn't install, nor the pull out keyboard (its not big at ALL).

Thanks dogchainx, thats exactly what I needed to know. My girlfriend is looking for a desk and is left handed is why I ask(for an arm rest when using the mouse), anyone have any suggestions for a good left-hand-use desk?

Well, if you set this desk up as to how i used it (big part of the desk using the computer, forget about the keyboard tray and that raiser shelf), this would be perfect.

Honestly, that small table to the left is REALLY small. there's no room to move around if you had that as your working area for the computer. But, if she's using the bigger part she can rest her arm on the smaller part which is to my left (she's left handed you said).

*edit* clarification

I am currently using this desk with the wing on the left, BUT it isn't really designed to use the wing on the left. I modified the some of the underside support bars to make it work. It wasn't that hard. It's worth $60 IMO. I got it because I wanted a big desk with plenty of top area space and space underneath for rolling file cabinets.

EDIT after reading rest of posts: I also don't use the top-shelf thing or the keyboard tray, and use the larger side for my keyboard, LCD, mouse, etc. Without the top shelf it provides TONS of useable desk area. I haven't had that green bubbly thing problem, and I've had plenty of cans of pepsi condensate on the desk.

My girlfriend has this same desk. She doesnt have problems with condensation on it. The only thing that happend to it is she stuck scotch tape with a piece of paper on the table and when she went to take it off after a few weeks it ripped the wood design on it. So, watch out for that kind of stuff.

Other than that its a great desk and she loves all the space she gets from it
