Don't use a condom, but you can use other methods as long as you have control.... In other words, let her get hers, then pull out.

I've heard quite a few of the docs in clinics and what not say that BC is a good method, but only 99% affective. Which means, 99 times out of 100 you're good. Of course, there's a couple of other things to know....like, make sure she takes the pill EVERY DAY. Also, make sure you know her cycle. They say that days 1-5 (when she's on her period) is about the safest time...(though the messiest)... After that, 6-8 or so is the most dangerous time. Technically, that's when most people on the pill conceive as long as they don't miss any pills.

Other than that, the cycle is about normal. Just keep in mind that the odds are pretty good that everything will be fine. There are rumors floating around that if a girl stays on the same birth control brand for too long that she'll become immune to it. This is a common myth that was started by the makers of Yasmine and the other brands that have been released in the last 8 years. If she's on a BC that makes her feel comfortable and doesn't make her cramp too bad, you should be in good shape. 🙂

Good Lord no.

^^^ the pill is far more effective than a condom.

<---- not a fan of the condom, but if you must, you must

No it is not. A condom will not fail because of hormonal changes, medicines, etc... The pill will. Also look at independent test done with birth control pills and you will see they are not as effective on average as the drug company test say they are. Kinda like saying ?I know cigarettes are not addictive or cause cancer as this cigarette company test says so??

I'm afraid you are mistaken. The pill is ~98% effective, while a condom is only 75% or so. Condoms break. Combining any two forms of birth control will be drastically more efffective, but the pill is much more effective than a condom

You're a dumbass. The pill does exactly the opposite.

Post some numbers. The ONLY way the pill is going to lose in statistics to a condom is when you compare the "ideal" use numbers of a condom to the "actual" use numbers of the pill.

When comparing ideal use to ideal use - Pill wins.
When comparing actual use to actual use - Pill wins.

I got pregnant on the pill.... so if you dont want kids, be careful.

🙂

I can understand why people are afraid that the pill is not always effective... its hard to remember to take them at the exact same time. thats why i switched to the patch...
its much better, and not as much to worry about!

I was faithful... same time every day. made no difference.
But the outcome was wonderful.

🙂

Yikes!! i know that no matter how faithful you are, they are only like 97.9999% effective though!

i am talking more about the patch, she wears it right on time.

NOT the pill..

just the patch.

but i was worried if i didnt use a condom and um finished then she would get the preg.

Really? I've known several people who were prescribed birth control because they had severe cramps during their period. The pill alleviated the cramps.

Please then show me where you get this data. Condoms break only if you don;t use then correct (or use some cheap no name). The pill if even followed 100% is NOT in the 90% range as shown by independent studys. Heck even KarenMarie was nice enouhg to give us some of her personl exp about it.
If you look at all the studys that say the pill is 95-98% you will see they screen the people for it very well, they are usually NOT in their teens to 20's, etc... It comes down to the drug companies wanting the results they PAY for.

Like for example the pill has shown....

"pill-users have a small increased risk of blood clots, heart attacks and stroke, Alving said"
But drug companies rarely tell you about that, instead they PAY for studys to say it is good or helps and in one case came out and said it was good for the heart, but when others looked at the study it was shown to be flawed and not even reviewed.

Or even a copy from another study...

Obese women on the pill 60% more likely to get pregnant
Man not good news for fat chicks 🙂

I would. There is no 100% effective method. 🙂

1 - Abstinence
2 - Mutual masturbation
3 - Fellatio
4 - Anal

// I had a very liberal sex ed teacher in high school. It would have been hard for her to be old fashioned because she was pregnant while teaching the course. We had so much fun in that class.

Scratch of 2 and 3.

Yep.
Some people just absolutely cannot deal with even the 0.0005 or whatever chance. Which is why some married couples use both pill & domes.
