Hate to tell ya brother but, she can get just as pregnant. Even though she is on her period, trust me I know.

yes because even during menstruation,
It is only one side of the ovaries that may not ovulate
The other one is still doing fine. They have a pair remember?

I didn't know that too.. until I had some discussions with some experts..
Gosh I was so lucky nothing happened.

yeap. During her period it isn't safe.
But the few days before her period and then the next few days after her period is always safest for unprotected sex =)

Thats when you are sure ovulation does not happen.

Good Lord no.
LoL, that's why we had 3 children in 3 years. She's horrible at taking pills and I hate condoms. The happiest day of my sexual life was the first time we did it after I had my vasectomy. No pills, no rubbers, no worries.

Not that I want to hijack this thread, but I got a free gift with my vascectomy... A baby girl (she is 5 now). Before you ask, yes I did go back for the tests and she is mine.
Vascectomy in June, tested twice in Sept., wife gets pregnant in Dec., tested again and everything is clear, Doctor stumped and could only accuse my wife of having an affair. On top of it all my wife was still breast feeding our 8 month old at the time and had yet to get her period back. She wound up going over three years without a period through two pregnancies.

Man, I can't believe how many have said yes. I haven't used a condom since I was seriously dating my (now) wife.

I've been with my lady for 4 1/2yrs, we havn't used a condom since we decided we were long term and got std checked, maybe around 3-4 yrs ago. I'm hopeing to propose when I graduate my undergrad. For those who question their significant other remembering to take their pills, it's not a hard thing to be supportive and either call or ask later in the day too.

Don't use a condom, but you can use other methods as long as you have control.... In other words, let her get hers, then pull out.

I've heard quite a few of the docs in clinics and what not say that BC is a good method, but only 99% affective. Which means, 99 times out of 100 you're good. Of course, there's a couple of other things to know....like, make sure she takes the pill EVERY DAY. Also, make sure you know her cycle. They say that days 1-5 (when she's on her period) is about the safest time...(though the messiest)... After that, 6-8 or so is the most dangerous time. Technically, that's when most people on the pill conceive as long as they don't miss any pills.

Other than that, the cycle is about normal. Just keep in mind that the odds are pretty good that everything will be fine. There are rumors floating around that if a girl stays on the same birth control brand for too long that she'll become immune to it. This is a common myth that was started by the makers of Yasmine and the other brands that have been released in the last 8 years. If she's on a BC that makes her feel comfortable and doesn't make her cramp too bad, you should be in good shape. 🙂

You're a dumbass. The pill does exactly the opposite.

Really? I've known several people who were prescribed birth control because they had severe cramps during their period. The pill alleviated the cramps.

Well...this is the deal. I know some girls have trouble handling the hormonal dosage. Usually the pill is prescribed these days to alleviate irregularities in their cycles, as well as for the no-baby effect. The problem is that some pills have high dosages that take a few months to get used to. Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo is one of the oldest and most widely used BCs available. Yasmine, however, is a higher dose so if someone goes from Ortho to Yasmine, they may experience bad cramps as a result of the higher dose. It's all in whether or not their bodies are used to the dosage, and it's definitely dependent on the girl's natural body chemistry and hormonal balance....in other words, I'm glad I don't have to deal with it.

I would. There is no 100% effective method. 🙂

1 - Abstinence
2 - Mutual masturbation
3 - Fellatio
4 - Anal

// I had a very liberal sex ed teacher in high school. It would have been hard for her to be old fashioned because she was pregnant while teaching the course. We had so much fun in that class.

Actually there is a chance to get preganat from Anal. It's very slim...but there is still a chance 🙂

:Q

What are you surprised about ?
You think what you're growing now is a beergut ? 😛

Wow, a lot of misinformed morons in this thread.

Oh, and what makes you think the information you got is better than ours!! I'm sticking with the pull-out method in the mean time!

You've never even had sex, what the hell would you know?

No condom necessary. save the jimmy hats for those nights u get drunk when your out with the guys and happen to "meet" someone. usually it states that it can take from 2 weeks to a couple months before a woman who stopped taking the pill to get pregnant. plus who the hell would waste the chance to not use condoms and not have to pull out...

all you other paranoid people please i suggest to get laid before posting on this type of question. On the other hand, if your really that pathetic please make use of the condom at all times or limit yourself to "cyber" sex. Help us keep the gene pool free from contaminants there are already enough losers that look like this <mirror> [ ] </mirror>.

pull out is fun. especially when u get to make a mess of her. but i never used a condom when girl was on the pill. she started getting weird periods and other side effects. Then again birth control medication wasnt meant to be taken for long periods of time. i now use jimmy hats that i get from www.condomdepot.com pack of 100 for like $25. good ones too and dont come in those stupid boxes with the stupid instructions.
