1. Back to the Future (every time I watch it I fall in love with it again)
2. Original Star Wars (honestly don't mind the special edition edits that much, probably because that's what I saw for the majority of my childhood)
3. either LOTR or Indiana Jones depending on my mood

Man, I want to watch back to the future again now

I hadn't considered the Man with no name films... Hmmm... Maybe I'd drop The Godfather for them. But then you'd have to remove unforgiven and a fistful of dynamite... Hmm...

I'm happy I made this thread, I have some great ideas for some movies I've somehow missed out on to either rent/buy. Thanks.

The 2nd movie sucked balls and the third movie wasnt even technically part of the series. The only thing it had was the Sheik. All the other characters and all of the crew were completely different.

American Pie movies didnt do much better. The third was missing several cast members and had a crappy story. And all of the movies since then arent even American Pie. They are generic college sex romps and if the producers are able to shoehorn Eugene Levy in somehow then they get to call it an American Pie movie.

I was joking dude. Lighten up.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider Matrix a trilogy b/c 2 & 3 (especially 2) are abominations. They should be removed from humanity's collective memory, tbh.

Not abominations...they have some good elements. Although the first Matrix movie is head and shoulders above.

For me:

1. Star Wars (4-6)
2. Aliens (1-3)
3. Indiana Jones

I've still only seen the first Godfather movie...really need to watch the other two.

those are quite good.

for me, I'd say the one that is the most consistently good would have to be LOTR.

Star Wars has a special place, of course, but the first one is fucking awful. :awe:

also Indiana Jones, but ToD isn't as good--though way better than the first SW flick.

I'd also say Terminator, as I don't hate on the 3rd one as much as everyone else, though it's certainly inferior to the others.

Aliens is great, though I actually find the 2nd one to be the lamest. it gets dumber every time I watch it. Loved it as a kid. :\

Godfather, well....the 3rd one can't even be mentioned.

I thought the second one was pretty bad, but I didn't mind the third one so much. /shrug

Fistfull of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, the Good, the bad, and the Ugly.

The Apu trilogy.

Godfather (3 was bad though)

Nothing else really deserves mention because Evil Dead 1 and 2 are the same film, and everything after Alien was terrible. INDIANA JONES!?!?! Are you fucking serious?!?!?!?

PS I am actually shocked that more Star Wars nerds aren't in here clamouring.

yeah, the more I think about it, this is another rare one where all of them were good. Pretty much the same movies, but none of them were a let down.

i really, really, really liked OldBoy, but was quite put-off by Sympathy.

not sure if I'll ever get around to watching Lady Vengeance b/c of that.

yeah, the 3rd wasn't nearly as bad as the 2nd. the 2nd was, to put it mildly, the absolute worst fucking movie I have ever had the displeasure of watching.

It is so fucking bad. there aren't enough expletives to properly convey my discontent over that wreck.

yes, yes you do. The only American film I consider better than GF2 is Raging Bull. It is so epic.

The Last Crusade is as good as, if not better than Raiders. Raiders, much like the first Star Wars flick gets all the love simply b/c it was the first. it is a freaking fantastic adventure movie, of course, but the 3rd one does the same stuff very, very well. I tend to prefer it over Raiders.

Of course, the first Star Wars flick is pretty terrible. :\

Yeah, it was brutal. I can watch the first and third one, but the second one I just cannot sit through anymore.

You know I think Aliens sucks balls. You have never been alone.

Ahh yes, my apologies sir, forgot about that.
