Your "success" vs. that of your siblings/cousins..

I was talking to a girl I met last night, who's 23 and has three older sisters who are 29-33, and all are doctors..while she's an unemployed college graduate living at home and working part time jobs in the mall.. Being the daughter of asian parents she hears of it every day, which can't be fun.

survival of the fittest...

it's too soon to tell for me, but my sister's a complete b1tch so she might not even make it past college if she keeps pissing off people

Among me, my brother and my sister, we have our trade-offs. I'm the youngest, but I'm making as much as they are if not more, and this is my first real job.

well im failing college

while my brother runs two bands out of Orlando florida, and sells pot
my sister teaches high school spanish

one cousin is an immigration lawyer

my other cousin has a Masters in journalism, and got accepted into Yale after a few years working civil rights in El Salvador, he got full + paid scholarship into yale, so he makes money going there..

I got ripped off on genes.. Im also adopted, so.. 😛

Depends on how you define success.

Wealth? Material Possessions? In a loving relationship? Enjoy their job more? More on-the-ball with their bills/insurance?

My guess is that they can speak basic English which might be the start of your downfall in comparison to them.

my sister is a doctor in residency, i'm a senior EE major going to go to grad school for hopefully two degrees in less time 😉 my guess is that by the time i finish we will make about the same $

money wise, I am better off. while I make only slightly more, I am 3 years younger and on an internship (stil have 1 more full year of school left).

But I don't have a GF, while she's happily married for a number of years, so she does own me in that department...

I am failing college while my sisters are doing great.
My yongest sister, who is volenteering in Chili right now, will be attending tufts when she returns at the end of the summer.

i'm lazy asian bum.

i did really good in high school but did poorly in college. i was in same class with PHiuR and we got bad grades in that class.

not that i was being preached by parents. i usually hate it despite having an iq score of 137.

parents persuaded too hard, my younger brother and i never got it too far yet. he and i are still in college though.

1st sis = housewives
2nd sis = will be a phramcist
3rd sis = working in a hospital and want to go back for more school to be a speech pathologist
4th sis = working and will receive her CPA in 2 years.

me = still in school going toward to be a CFA.

my 4th sis will be handling my taxes problems. 🙂

Indeed.

Wealth, would be meme as I am working, now that I finished Uni and m bro is in his last year of Maths at Uni.

Possessions I have more stuff but I save more £££ and he drinks more and spend more on clothes. I spent on clothes but just not as lavishly as he does.

But at the end of the day I don't give a sh!t who is more successful in any way. As long as I'm happy that in itself is enough success for me .

My bro has jokenly said he just wants to earn 1p more then me though 😛

My little bro is 10 and will do well in everything as he has 2 older bros to look after him. He'll be the most successful athletically as he has the advantage of starting at 10 wheres me and my bro started later and without coaches.

Koing

Most of my older cousins are doing fairly well for themselves. They either have decent jobs or they're going to grad school. I just graduated with my bachelor's degree and I'm pretty much working at my dream job where I get to work on high profile projects in a really cool environment (I bought a Nintendo DS so I can play Mario Kart with my coworkers).

My brother and I are on two completely different career paths. He's always been much, much more into computers than me, dropped out of college to pursue that, and now earns quite a bit of money handling network security for a tech company in Atlanta.

I'm enrolled in a clinical psych doctoral program here at LSU, and might possibly make after graduation what he does now...if that day ever actually comes.

I'm quite happy for him and all of his success, and I also wouldn't want to change my position in the least.

1 younger brother, he's 37 and a complete loser. I can't tell you how long it's been since he held a real job. Currently hooked on something that's made him lose so much weight that he looks like a concentration camp prisoner. I'm guessing meth.
So I guess I'm easily more successful, since I have my own business, home, etc. Of course, anyone working at McDonald's is more successful than he is.
