You have a very unique garage. :Q

It's a climbing wall I built there. It was just bare walls before.

CV joints and claybar + wax my A6.

Also I tore down most of the upper interior and stuffed teflon wax and foam wherever I could. Quieted down 99% of the interior. Still gotta do the same on the door panels... ran outta teflon :(
Oh yeah totally forgot, I got a new passenger side mirror, since the old one was leaking dimming fluid.

Next up is S6 tiptronic steering wheel conversion, dash cluster fix and that's about it for the time being.

Electrochromatic mirrors (auto-dimming), the mirrors get darker at night when there are headlights shining on them ...so you're not blinded.

Wondered why my ignition switch isn't in the right place...

Installed an OEM-sized replacement subwoofer - it's not going to shatter windows, but it doesn't take up much space. Works for me. :D

Replaced my power mirror wiring harness plug (the old one was shot). Now my driver's side power mirror works. The passenger side doesn't...that'll be fun to figure out.

Notched all four brake line tabs, so I won't have to disconnect/reconnect/bleed brake lines. Huge time-saver for whenever/if-ever I pull the struts again.

Took a photo of what's left of a strut boot. There's more here than on some of the others.

Rear struts are out

See that in the middle? That used to be a sway bar endlink.

This is why people reinforce the mounting tabs when running stiffer sway bars (that's my driver's side front strut). Fortunately I have a replacement housing already.

The front strut assemblies have been removed as well...no photos, though. I'll be dropping them off at a shop on Monday to have the tabs welded - I'll probably go ahead and pay them to install the Koni inserts as well..much faster/easier than doing it myself. I don't have a good work bench with a vice..and I have a feeling they're pretty well rusted in there.

My poor engine is filthy..gotta do something about that, too.

Nice MR2! I bought a 91 NA as a (big) project 2 months ago. Ordered a Gen3 clip that STILL hasn't arrived, dammit.

What subwoofer did you put in that has the same dimensions as the OEM?

I just swapped out the stock bulbs in my car for 7500K bulbs.

Stock

One out

New bulbs

It should have been easy to do but there is no room to get your hand in there and I chewed up the back of my hand trying to get the bulbs in.

Thanks!

Tang Band W5 It's not going to rattle the windows, but it filled out the bottom end a bit.

I bent a pry bar, but I did get the rear strut inserts out. A local shop pulled the front ones for me when they reinforced the sway bar tabs.

That's a TangBand subwoofer - while I can't tell you the exact model number you can get them from PartsExpress.com. You can stuff 'em almost anywhere, but getting any real bass requires a bigger box. Elemental Designs has similar products.

If you want real bass in a relatively small box, the JL 8W7 is a nice bet. Hugely expensive, but nice.

I helped change a clutch on a '96 dodge pickup. What kind of person designs a vehicle so you need over 2 feet of extensions on a wrench so you can reach a bolt on the bell housing? I sure hope their new trucks are better than that.

Yeah, I've had dipped bulbs before. It's only for the Angel Eyes and not for the headlights so I'm ok with it. What I'm not ok with is the fking dent someone put in my door yesterday. Two months old and dented already.

Ouch, that sucks! All the way through paint, or can you dent-wizard it?

I'm using the same bulb in my wife's M5 (just upgraded to LCI headlights not too long ago). I'm going to test a 50w bulb some more to see if it throws any error messages.

I cut my 03-05 Accord Sedan lip (black) to fit my 07 Accord Sedan

I did not get it perfect, but "good enough"

Maybe next weekend drop it off to have it painted to Carbon Bronze Pearl (didn't have that color in 03-05)

Also put in new wiper inserts and had a simple wash

I bought dent insurance from the dealership so they may be able to fix the dent. The dent is down to the paint though. It's white and flaked off so I don't know how much of an improvement it will be.

My new bulbs keep throwing an error code for some reason. When starting the car up, one of the inside lights lights up while the other one is out. If I turn the wheel, the light and error goes out. I'm pretty certain a 50W bulb will give you an error.

Heh - knowing at least one of the cars you own, the fact that your (wife's) M3 has that license plate is a hoot.

About a week has gone by with the 50w bulb. No error message. Isn't bright though' in fact it's dimmer than the 35w. Might be just this bulb though.

The bulbs:

Actually installed. 50w on right:

Installed

I ordered some Osram Night Breaker 55w H11 bulbs to try next. The H11 have a similar bases to the H8, so it can probably be modified to fit.

No photos, it was a total nightmare.

Spent all of Saturday helping my dad put 1970's Finnish diesel inboard saiboat engine back into our boat. No crane. Lifting it up with ropes while climbing a ladder (boat is still on cradle and not in the water).

This is an experience I def don't want to repeat ever again.

Edit:

I should also add that the ladder was a shitty piece of shit wood one that was flimsy and shaky and felt like it would fall apart any second. And I'm a big guy :(
