The first it cost me $350 and I bought it in a PC Hardware store, it was an Powercolor Radeon 9700 Non pro which I flashed to pro successfully, i bought it when the 9800 PRO was released, then I bought the Sapphire Radeon X800 XT which I flashed to PE and It cost me $476 in Newegg. I bough it like 1 month before the release of the X850.

havent yet, always stay around $200,, these things are a ripoff.. buy one just for maybe 4 decent games a year on the PC then it's old and dated... I see why epople buy consoles now.. $400 or whatever and it's set for the next 3-4 years

you can hang on to a card for 3-4 years, the 9700p is a three year old card and still plays games decently.

it's your choice to go for the best, to want high resolutions, high levels of aa/af, maintain high framerates, etc

i so have you guys beat on this one ;p

my first 300$+ video card was a : Pure3d Canopus Voodoo II.. and it cost me an incredibly 600$ CDN !!!! it was the last the store had and they had just been discontinued.. and this was without a doubt the best Voodoo 2 card you could buy.. at the time I bought it that was worth more than 2 full paychecks for me! lol... I was crazy back then.. I still am I guess since I can't wait to spend 700$+ on a nvidia 7900
