OMFG? That's easy... My friend losing his freighter with 2bil worth of cargo in EVE online to Goons ganking him in hisec at the gate... Getting my Mackinaw blown up by Hurricane gank.

Well this one is a bit negative....

Not getting the pacifist achievement in Deus Ex: Human Revolution because you killed the enemies in the tutorial.....was the first play through but I still managed getting the 100% stealth achievement. Probably not going to do a pacifist run ever again.

Deus Ex 1 is actually easier when just sneaking and avoiding enemies.

I've done the pacifist but when I saw a pacifist run without augmentations.. That deserved an ending of it's own.

Ok, so I'd been awake far too long one day and I decided to play some Mario Bros 3. Everything is going fine until I hit the level with the winged goombas that drop small goombas that latch onto you and slow you down. Then it hits me after 2+ decades of playing SMB3.

OH MY GOD!!! It's giving birth on me! GETEMOFFGETEMOFFGETEMOFF!!! WUAARRGGHH!! AHHH!!! AHHH!!!

Do you know the dual whistle trick?

Interesting.

I loved Oblivion, and saw Skyrim as the natural progression. It looks a LOT better now, with all the mods than it did at release.

I never played Oblivion. In fact, I never really played a role playing game before.

I'm mostly play first person shooters. Maybe that's why I was so impressed with Skyrim.

The first mission in Duke Nukem Forever:you pissing in a urinal. Not exactly a favorite as more of a big WTF?DNF as a whole is a big wtf that i have never finished playing.

The Atlas in Hard Reset:the moment everything gets extremely dark wow.

My first omfg moment was playing half-life. The giant pecky thing in the silo, trying to sneak past it. I was amazed you can do something else in a game other than run around and shoot stuff.

A lot of RE4 for me, I know a lot of people don't like QTE but the whole Krauser fight.

Fooling around shooting the water before the boss fight...that caught me off guard, I could go on but that game delivered moment after moment for me when it first came out.

DMC3 cerebrus fight for the first time amazingly brutal.

Fall out 3 leaving the vault

To warp to later worlds? Or are we talking about a "Wirt's Third Leg" type of thing. :awe:

Some of my favorite moments in recent games have come from Planetside 2.

This one time I was plinking at a tank off in the distance with the stock dumb fire rocket launcher. Didn't think I'd really hit much of anything until an enemy fighter swoops down in front of me and flies into the rocket I just fired and blows up.

At another point I was pinned down by a few fighters along with a few other players on foot. So I take aim at one of the fighters and start shooting. The fighter starts to peel off, collides with another nearby fighter and they both explode and I get the XP for it.

I meant that you can find two whistles early in World One and use them both at the same time to go straight to World 8.
Yes, I know. I'm just jerkin' your gherkin. 😛

The nuke scene from CoD4 (spoilers) http://youtu.be/jB-n_8zq9Qo that everyone always talks about and rightly so.

However I'm more fond of this one from earlier in the game (spoilers again) http://youtu.be/CaVVLPX8-5g
It has not been fun watching Activision run this series into the ground. 🙁

Haven't even played EVE in years, but yeah that game is totally geared to be cut throat and have OMFG moments.

I've had many over the years I probably can't even remember some.

I won't bother getting boring 🙂

Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows of Amn

Was wondering around with my party in the wilderness and meandered into a dungeon in some cliff area. What I thought would be a quick romp through a basic dungeon turned out to be deep and challenging and went on far longer than I ever imagined. I took my party down further and further and eventually hit a large empty room when out of nowhere and to my great surprise I found my first Dragon!

It was very tough to win that battle, but that moment of seeing the dragon and the surprise/excitement is still something that stands out to me as an all time great gaming moment roughly 15 years later.

Stepping out into the first large area in Unreal right after completing the opening mission. Looked awesome for that time back in the late 90's. It may not compare in graphics to the likes of today's Shadow of Mordor, FC4 and a modded Skyrim but then maybe in 10 years pc 3d games will have almost DVD like visuals. Or maybe 20 years.

Back when Oblivion came out and walking out of the Prison and seeing the fields and rivers in front of you. Not knowing exactly where to go.

This. Have been waiting for another similar moment in Skyrim, etc. Lots of great game since then, but maybe only FO3 had a similar 'wow' moment when you first start it.

When I thought marrying my attractive genius cousin after years of bloodline pruning would result in awesome offspring, only to have 2 of my 3 kids inbred and the other one homosexual. Yes, I'm talking about Crusader Kings 2.
