I would have a poll, but I dont feel like entering in each item, one at a time. We need a better system for polls.

Will take suggestions for a day and then add a poll with your recomendations.

EDIT: Both lists are the same, they just have one for alphabetical and one for rating. Personally, I was amazed to see they rated A&W higher than IBC.
Thats why I created this thread, these guys are obviously insane.

So ronrey without a roor beer.

Barqs is my fav.

edit: I'm a little surprised Lost Trail Rootbeer isn't on the list. Used to love that stuff as a kid.

I find A&W too sweet. Actually, I'm not sure sweet is the word I'm looking for, but it's the best I can come up with. I usually buy Barqs.

Barqs is far superior, but not always obtainable.
Mug is too convenient considering it doesnt taste that good.

I wont argue with that website on Henry Weinhards, the problem is I havent seen any around since I left the Pacific coast. Tons of it in California and Oregon, none in Virginia.
I may have to buy it from Amazon or something. Assuming shipping costs dont kill me and the crazy UPS man doesnt break the bottles.

I like IBC in the bottle, and I had one the other night that, if my friend hadn't had told me, I would have never guessed that it was diet. Tasted awesome.

Wow, Henry Weinhard's is rated #1. I like it probably more than any other root beer, but I was hoping that there was a better one. Thomas Kemper is the other popular one out here (which is also at the top), but it's way too sweet for me.

Actually IBC might be my favorite but I haven't had it in years.

I like Barqs, but I'm not a root beer connoisseur. The only one I'm consistently disappointed with is A&W from a can.

Glass bottle ALWAYS tastes better, thats why I was suprised IBC got rated so low. Its basically the same as other mid-range brands, but can only be found in a bottle, so it automatically tastes better.

Great trick if you have any European friends coming to the U.S. for the first time. Many will never have heard about root beer. Have them order it and they'll hate it. Actually not so much a trick but a dick move. oh well.

A little store across the street from the EE building at UC Berkeley carried Henry Weinhard's root beer and cream soda. I would stop by there a couple times a week and grab one of the two. Absolutely delicious.

Personally, I don't think Henry Weinhard's is the best, nor do I think that Root 66 is that great either. Virgil's is my favorite by far. If you have a Trader Joe's they usually stock it, I've also seen it at cost plus world market and some natural grocery stores.

Alright, I put up my pole. It was based on suggestions and brands I have actually heard about.

One note: A&W automatically loses 15 votes because its at the top and I know how you guys vote.
