What kind of speaker and sound card setup do you have on your computer? I have Turtle Beach Santa Cruz with crappy Altec Lansing AVS300, planning to get some better speakers.

whatever onboard sound this motherboard has

my speakers are about 4 years old , Sony SRS-PC71
i need to buy some good headphones

Hercules Game Theater with Klipsch 2.1's. It's simple, but does a good job. If I'm listening to music or watching a movie I use a pair of Sony studio headphones.

Huh, I only got onboard AC97 thing, and no speakers at all, only cheap Sony headphones. I'm thinking of upgrading the LCD to 17 inch with built in speakers to solve that problem.

I don't want any extra wires around my desk, that's it. And I don't need them to listen to anything - just for Windows sounds.

SB Audigy connected to my home theater setup:

Yamaha RX-V496 receiver
Paradigm Titans (mains)
Paradigm CC-150 (center)
Paradigm Atoms (surrounds)
Paradigm PDR-10 (subwoofer)

Other stuff in the HT:
Toshiba 50h82 (50" widescreen HDTV) 😀

Haven't used "computer speakers" in quite a few years. I think my last pair were Cambridge Soundworks PCWorks...

I've got a Mad Dog (FAR last week at OfficeMax) 4.1 channel sound card paired with Logitech Z560 4.1 speakers.

It rocks.
