Yeah. They're still from nvidia, they're just not WHQL certified. Meaning they're not official.

I got a performance boost in all games and 3dmark with these, so I suggest you try them.

YMMV. For me, 82.12 are slower than both 81.98whql and 83.10 leaked betas by pretty good margin. 83.10 are bugged in several games, BTW, I don't recommend them.

3DMark05
81.95= 9084
81.98= 9143
82.12= 9089
83.10= 9159

IMHO 81.98whql are the best drivers out in a long while. All 82.12 adds is a fix for 6800GS, so these will gain you absolutely nothing over 81.98 wit ha 7800GT.

OC that processor too. You won't see huge gains but going from 2.2GHz to 2.85GHz on my 3700+ netted me 200-300 points with a 7800GTX. Also switch to high performance settings like others have suggested, defrag your hardrive, and disable all unnecessary processes (anti-virus, Messenger, etc.). You should be in the low 8000's pretty easy with the cpu at 2.6-2.8GHz.

Well beta drivers got me from 791 to 7924, wow... great increase. Yeah, i think i will defrag, though i didn't think it would help a great deal.

I can't risk letting go of my 3700's warrenty, so no ocing... Go evga's warrenty!

Im so amazed at your scores ppl thats pretty ridiculous scores you guys get. my 7800gtx only gets 7400 max in 3dmark. 460/1100. quality settings. my 7800gt evga 470/1130 only gets 6400 marks.. So someone please tell me how you guys get these outrageous scores. Please list your nv settings, and drivers i find it kinda hard to believe my scores suck that bad compared to the rest of the ppl out here.

You've got something seriously wrong if you're getting those scores with the system in your sig. Are you running your memory at tight timings?

Actually, even at the slowest timings possible you should be getting more than that. My A64 @ 2.55, memory at 2.5-3-3-7 and eVGA GT at stock gets 7500 at stock and 8100 overclocked.

I agree, sounds like something's borked with your system. You should easily be in the high 7000's or low 8000's with those clocks. Try defragging your hdd, shutting off all unnecessary background apps, and set Nvidia image quality to high performance (also make sure you don't have TSAA on, same with regular AA or AF).

The system in my signature got 12920 on quality mode last time I ran it. I haven't tried it using only one card.

my 7800gt evga 470/1130 only gets 6400 marks.

Something is really off. I am bumping 6000 with my 6800gs on quality.

Do you all reccommend that the quality settings in the nvidia control panel are set to performance just for the 3dmark score, or all the time? I scored 76xx with the settings on quality (7800gt oc'ed to 492/1192).

I've never messed with those settings before... does it really effect 3dmark and gameplay?
