Helloooo big *censur* affordable 4K screen. I'd like a big screen in the living room that could double as a monitor for the main rig when I have the house to myself, gaming, coding, whatever ... would be awsome (1080p is just a tad too small)
Definitely not in the next 2 years. Not because I don't want one but because there's not a snowball's chance in hell that they will support 120hz by then. If I upgrade my current 1600p monitor I want to go up from 60 to 120hz too. And current 4K monitors are 30hz, which is so crappy that it should be illegal </rant>.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but stop repeating this false information. If you connect a single HDMI cable to it, yes, it'll be 30hz. Connect two, and you have 60Hz. A single DisplayPort is also 60Hz.
Whether you have the GPU power to hit 60fps is another matter, just remember that several manufacturers have announced sub-1000 dollar 4K displays for 2014. They are coming, so you posters claiming you're going to buy one when its under 3K USD might be spending money much earlier than you think.![]()
