Just for accuracy. The article was incorrect on first printing:

$10,000 not $100,000.
A court has ordered former Rowan County, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis to pay $10,000 to a gay same-sex couple because she refused to issue a marriage license to them.

At the bottom of the page:

"Correction (9/14/2023):
The original headline for this article listed an incorrect monetary amount."

The amount ordered was $100,000.

That article is certainly a mess now; the headline says one thing, the article says another.

Imagine her outrage if she had gone to file for divorce (she did 3 times), and the clerk was Catholic and refused to process it because divorce is not allowed in Catholicism.

I maintain this is not faith at all, its bigotry that uses faith to justify it.

I kinda agree.

Sure, people use religion to advance their bigorty or hatred towards others. But, when its in the book or scripture that they read that they can act badly towards gay people than that is the issue. The OT is filled with bigotry and hatred towards gay people. It advocates for slavery and the ownership of other people. The NT, although not as harsh as the OT, has some very troubling scripture (Exodus 20-21) for example. Its this type of message that these Christian hardcore fundamentalist pick up on, and use to attack other people who don't share their views and values. The holy Quran and Torah are just as bad. I'm not just picking on Christanity. My point is if it was truly God or God inspired he would surely understand that views change. But, does absolutely nothing? Exodus20-21 was used by US slave owners to justify slave ownership. And nothing from God. I'd think that within the 10 commandments we would see a "don't own others as property" mention. Its clearly evident that the bible and other religious text like the Torah and the Quran are not from an all poweerful God who supossedly kniows the future, but was clearly written by man. And, as society has progressed; the abolishment of slavery, the acceptance of gay relationships and marriage, the fact that evolution is true, and so on. Christanity was forced to change as well. Its why the Catholic church has lost so much power over the last few centuries.

One article says $260, 000 in fees and costs, but I wasn't sure if that was in addition to the $100,000.
