WTF is wrong with being rich and going to Chili's?

Serious?

yes its a serious question WTF is wrong with being rich and going to chilis

B/c even poor people know that their tons of better options. Being rich, you'd think that he's had the opportunity to eat at better places and know not to go back to Chili's.

I guess you can take a man out of the trailer park but can't take the trailer park out of the man.

seriously you have some fucked up view of the world if you thing that 1) eating at chilis makes you a readneck and 2) you feel that people with money should not eat at normal places (chains,....)

I never said that eating at chili's make you a redneck. I was going with the OP's title.

I'm saying that you'd think that someone famous should have had the opportunity to eat at a wider range of places than chains and realize that chains suck.

If I want a burger, ribs or other pub food, I have some many better options than Chili's and some of those places are even less expensive than Chili's. Maybe, I'm lucky for living in the city and having those options. If I lived in the burbs/country, Chili's might be my only option.

Let's just put it this way. I've had high dollar steaks before at very nice establishments. You know what? The quality just wasn't worth it.

You see, what you're really trying to say is 'I'm rich therefore I can only eat next to other rich people' because the assumption that price = high quality is definitely not always the case. Hell I'll put my money on Chili's skillet queso over any other appetizer chip dip served anywhere.

 First off, did you read where I said I can find better food for less money? I live in a college city. I can go to Bartley's Burgers in Harvard Square or O'Sullivans in Porter Square and get a much better burger for less money. I can go to the Asgard, Joshua Tree, Christopher's, River Gods, etc and get better pub food for less money than Chili's. For Mexican food, I can go to Tu y Yo in Somerville get ten times better food than Chili's for the same price.

Sounds like you're one of those that needs to expand their dining repertoire.

i rather go to chilies then Asgard, i never really liked their food. also foxworthy doesnt live in Cambridge

I wasn't talking about Foxworthy in regard to my post since it was a reply back to fingolfins reply.

And based on your preference for Chili's that explains your tastebuds.

This should pretty much wrap up the discussion.

Who cares if Foxworthy is eating below his means? I enjoy Chili's just as much as I enjoy going to exclusive steakhouses. At least in Texas, most of the Chili's I've been to have a nice, almost rowdy atmosphere that you just will not get from a finer dining place with candle-lit tables and elevator music. Maybe you need a hobby to keep you from posting negative threads about celebrities that nobody cares about to begin with. :p

Their buffalo chicken fajitas are pretty good, and they make a great mushroom swiss burger. Other than that, sure, their menu is mediocre.

He's allowed to eat whatever the fuck he wants to eat. Bill Clinton used to eat at McDonald's :p

you think Chili's Grill & Bar is a fancy restaurant.

nobody here is claiming Chili's is a fancy restaurant. However, it is usually the people who aren't rich or upper-middle-class 25 year olds who just got their first BMW that feel like they have the need to establish themselves as rich by acting elitist. Fortunately for me, I'm past that stage and don't need to act rich in order to fullfill some kind of image. Most people who are well established aren't insecure enough to have to let everyone know that they are rich.

Oh, and I like Chili's. They have decent burgers, and if I had a few million dollars more, I would still like their burgers/fries :)

What is wrong with Chili's? Their food is decent, not 5 stars but not bad.

Chili's, TGIF, On The Border, etc. are all in the same group IMO, decent foods.

Never knew there were so many Chili's backers here. I've never liked the place. I think I relate it to that themed restaraunt from Office Space, or the restaraunt from waiting. Never appealed to me. To each his own.

What, you don't like Pizza Shooters, Shrimp Poppers, or Extreme Fajitas?

Totally agree. Every fancy expensive place has left me unsatisfied and feeling ripped off. Half the time the waiters are rude.

Chili's owns, the haters can DIAF.

Depends on who is in the kitchen. Chain restaurants generally have great recipes with decent quality food supply, but only passable chefs. Or they may have a good chef, but poor help.

That being said, the steak that I've had the most and probably enjoy the most was at a chain restaurant. Rare porterhouse at the Clarksville Longhorn. But I might go to another Longhorn, order the same thing, and get crap.

I would still eat fast food if I were a millionaire.

What's wrong with Chili's? It's not like he was eating at Howard Johnson's or White Castle.

Because people get rich by not understand the value of things.

Most rich people that started off "regular" still understand the value of money. I know several very rich people and most are very frugal people. They didn't get rich by eating at upper class restaurants costing several hundred a plate. I also know several upper class people who eat at fancy restaurants to try and show everyone else their rich who will probably never make it to millionaire status simply because of that. It all depends on their values and how they made their money.
