Ok, here's the deal. I've lived in the area for 19 years. Foxworthy lives about 10 minutes from where I do in Atlanta, Ga; I'm sure it was him. There are TONS of restaraunts that are better than chilis in the area. Better food, better quality, better prices. Chili's just isn't upto par with the surrounding neighborhood of dining cusine.

Maybe he's doing advertising for them? Free meals?

Maybe he just likes the food..

....

Maybe it was his evil robot clone?!!

Foxworthy's kids go to the same school as my kids. I don't know him but from everything I've heard from others he's pretty much a down to earth person. He even drives his girls to school when he's home. It doesn't surprise me that he'd eat at a Chili's.

We did bump into him one time at an event on campus. My wife didn't even recognize him. When she did, she couldn't remember his name and said, "Hey you're that guy from that comedy show...Blue Collar Comedy Tour." I did the facepalm. LOL

I often take my supermodel girlfriend to Chili's in my Lamborghini right after we finish playing polo.

Chili's is good but I'm a Steak n' Shake customer for life (along with my father who got me addicted).

How much money you have has nothing to do with it.

1. Not every famous actor is a millionaire;
2. Being a millionaire does not mean as much today as it use to;
3. Most famous people started out a "regular" people (especially former stand-up comedians);
4. Living in L.A., I can tell you that most famous actors live pretty normal lives away from the set, including going to Starbucks, the dry cleaners, the market, and, yes, to regular restaurants.

I think he is saying if he were a millionaire, why would he need to leave the comfort from under his rock.

WTF is wrong with being rich and going to Chili's?

Serious?

yes its a serious question WTF is wrong with being rich and going to chilis

B/c even poor people know that their tons of better options. Being rich, you'd think that he's had the opportunity to eat at better places and know not to go back to Chili's.

I guess you can take a man out of the trailer park but can't take the trailer park out of the man.

seriously you have some fucked up view of the world if you thing that 1) eating at chilis makes you a readneck and 2) you feel that people with money should not eat at normal places (chains,....)

I never said that eating at chili's make you a redneck. I was going with the OP's title.

I'm saying that you'd think that someone famous should have had the opportunity to eat at a wider range of places than chains and realize that chains suck.

If I want a burger, ribs or other pub food, I have some many better options than Chili's and some of those places are even less expensive than Chili's. Maybe, I'm lucky for living in the city and having those options. If I lived in the burbs/country, Chili's might be my only option.

Let's just put it this way. I've had high dollar steaks before at very nice establishments. You know what? The quality just wasn't worth it.

You see, what you're really trying to say is 'I'm rich therefore I can only eat next to other rich people' because the assumption that price = high quality is definitely not always the case. Hell I'll put my money on Chili's skillet queso over any other appetizer chip dip served anywhere.

when someone says 'for the money it's not worth it' that is someone on a budget, not rich usually.

However; the benefit of Chili's and the like over a higher end place is usually a more casual environment and faster food.

:laugh: First off, did you read where I said I can find better food for less money? I live in a college city. I can go to Bartley's Burgers in Harvard Square or O'Sullivans in Porter Square and get a much better burger for less money. I can go to the Asgard, Joshua Tree, Christopher's, River Gods, etc and get better pub food for less money than Chili's. For Mexican food, I can go to Tu y Yo in Somerville get ten times better food than Chili's for the same price.

Sounds like you're one of those that needs to expand their dining repertoire.

Benihanas is expensive, good if you like a show with your dinner. The chef's cook in front of you and really do some cool shit. Definitely not a redneck friendly place. And not a spot I'd eat at a lot, but once in awhile it's a lot of fun to be entertained by the chefs, they do some amazing moves. You could probably eat at Chilis 4 or 5 times for the price of Benihanas once lol.

I saw Tony Hawk at Islands once - of course, he's not as 'upper crust' as Jeff Foxworthy, so I can understand his willingness to mingle with us common folk.

Thanks, i appreciate the description :)
Value is probably our #1 concern when eating out these days. with the mortgage and bills, we usually end up at a greasy spoon instead of somewhere upscale.
no complaints here, gotta make it through the rough patches :)
