(These apply to me as a gamer, not so much an oc'r....yet. I hope to be up there one day with ya'll. Currently saving up for an aftermarket hs fan.)

If you added the time spent oc'ing, stress testing, building and dreaming about building up and it's > or = 2 master's degrees, a cure for cancer, and the time it would take to vaccinate a third world country for polio.

Have trouble communicating women because they don't have keyboards attched to them. (true in my case.... no mute bind)

Your stomach could double for a whiteboard. (the sun is the devil)

You try and file your systems as dependants on your taxes.

The age of your system components ranges from 1 week old to 1997.

You know you overclock too much when...

...You send someone your email address as username@3.25ghz instead of @yahoo.com

(Yes, I actually did this)

You know you overclock too much when you keep upping the Vcore past "safe" voltages because you know if you fry the CPU, it gives you an excellent excuse to go buy a new one.

I thought I was the only one doing this.

about 6 months ago i ran my A64 San Diego at 1.625v for about a week and it just would not die before I gave up and rolled it back to 1.5v. Worst part, the 1.625 on air(1.6 after vdroop) wouldn't get me past 3.1ghz. >:|

When you walk into your old work (a Pizza Shop) and wonder if your boss would notice that the compressors from the industrial walk-in freezers are missing.

When you can cook an egg on your NB.

When you think a board is "crappy" when it can't hit 500FSB.

When you know what vDroop, strap, and QDR mean.

When you forget that your E6400's stock is 2.13GHz, not 3.2GHz.

When your Q6600 isn't fast enough @ 3.0GHz so you go out an buy a custom watercooling loop so you can load a few seconds quicker.

When you have a webcam for viewing the status of your stress testing while at work.

When you buy a better HSF so when summer comes, you won't have to sacrifice anything.

When 7-carat diamonds make you think of thermalpaste, not jewelry.

When you think you can "go without those extra meals" for a few months just so you can buy an unlocked multiplier processor. Then you realize "those extra meals" are really all of your meals.

And finally, when you overclock a calculator from 6MHz to 15MHz just so you can beat games 2.5x faster. Or die 2.5x faster. And then program Windows XP for your TI-84 Plus Silver Edition in TI-BASIC and TI-Assembly and then make a "CPU-Z" and "Prime95" for sh*ts and giggles.

600MHz FSB is the new 500.

When you wonder if your wife would perform better in the sack if you just bumped the voltage a little:Q But always remember to watch those temps when increasing voltage

The history section:
You remember when Intel tried aluminum transistors, and shudder.
You remember how awe inspiring a Pentium Pro was at 225 MHz.
You know who KryoTech was and still want one of those.

Back to reality:

You get giddy (or get your wallet) every time transistor sizes shrink.

You curse the nice summer weather for "ruining everything."

...Y'know, if I could underclock my alarm clock, think of all the heat and energy I'd save every morning. :-D

I had my S1668D strapped running both 200MHz 1MB PPro's at 233 and laughed at the VERY expensive dual PII 300's. Of course they smoked me in 16bit code (the Pro had poor 16bit performance due to a lack of a segment descriptor cache if memory recalls). NT 4.0 with my SERIAL MOUSE.

When DEA busts down your door thinking you're up to no good because of the $1k electric bills, tons of heat coming from your house and running a/c in the winter time. They are more convinced when they find out you posted pics of your crack racks online. (anyone remember RC5?)

Whenever you research ANY consumer good, you type in overclock behind it in the search engine.

Ex. 10 Megapixel Camera Overclock

When your phone heats up while you're talking on it for a while and you think, "I wish I could add active cooling"

...Then you blow on it...

How about:
When you install a smoke detector inside your case, just so your computer can meet your building fire safety standards.
