You know what sucks?

Having cracked rib and getting a cold that makes you sneeze every 2 mins. This is going to be a long, painful day.

Yesterday I played soccer in a T shirt and shorts in 30 degree weather. Today I woke up and my wrist and knees were in a world of pain. I don't think my tendons loved the freezing weather and then fast warm up.

Neither did my leg which took about 4 slide tackles and currently feels like it will break in half with any pressure on it.

Oowweee. Another basketball injury? I'm in a brace for another month from a TFCC tear in my shooting hand I sustained in February. At least mine doesn't hurt when I sneeze or cough.

🙁

Yeap. 2nd time back after the knee and/or finger (both still lingering mind you)
I set a pick and this big bruiser of a guy just kinda hit me right. It knocked the wind outta me at the time, but it hasn't gotten 1 bit better in 14 days. I admit I didn't go to the doctor though... but cracked/bruised/whatever they can't do a thing for it.

I would prescribe to you the Brett Favre cocktail. 4 parts Vicodin, 2 parts Oxycodone, and one part Tylenol. Mix up and take with food.

Sorry man. I've never had a rib injury but by most accounts they are miserable. You been able to sleep well at night? That was the thing that really bothered people I knew...they tried breathing at night and it kept them up.

We really are gluttons for punishment aren't we? We get older and injured more often but we are marking the calendar trying to get back out and playing. I tried playing a few weeks ago with my brace but I was useless. Can't shoot. Can't dribble. Can't even rebound well because I can't get a good grip on the ball. The 3-ball was my specialty...I just hope I get my stroke back after this thing heals up.

Hopefully your kids are cooperative and don't land any ninja haymakers on you off the top turnbuckle of the couch when you least suspect it.

I don't have that much trouble breathing (except for those super deep breaths). Sleeping is tricky though as I will roll to my left side (which I prefer) and its right there, almost under the armpit. That's what keeps waking me up.

LOL yeah... I'm thinking about playing tonight in fact. I'm supposed to be in a MACC Fund charity tourney on Friday night too. I'm still more scared about the knee. It just does not feel "stable" so even when I did just play these past few weeks, I didn't want to jump or hustle or make any cuts. I just set picks and rolled and hoped I could hit a 12 footer (just inside my sharp-shooter range 🙂)

I just healed up from a cracked rib. Mine broke in front and back which I'm told is common fwiw. I also broke both of my arms, twisted both of my knees and about destroyed my poor right ass cheek; all in the name of learning how to snow board. You know what hurt the most? My ass. Second most painful was the rib 😉

<------- scratches "learning to snowboard" off the "Things to try" list.

I tired learning how to snowboard in 1990ish. I was an avid skier and skateboarder so snowboarding was just a natural extension of my hobbies right? WRONG. My ass-cheek was literally blank the next day and for the next 2 weeks. Screw that. I just went back to skiing and skating.
