I'll add one... I hate hearing phones that don't sound like phones. Part of it is that I've always been hard of hearing and musical tones of any kind tend to get lost in the background noise easier even if they can match the volume of a good, pure, classic, unmistakable, ring. The closest I can find on my iPhone is "Old Phone" and I even have trouble hearing that sometimes. It's funny hearing the EXACT same ring on TV/radio and in movies all the time.
Oh! And I'll add another: The sound of Baby Mario crying in
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. It has the intended effect on the player though... "Get that damn baby back NOW [so you can shut him up/prevent dying]"

1. I have one on my phone that sounds like a top-secret military installation. It works well, so I use it. It, too, comes from some Hollywood sound library and I frequently hear it elsewhere.
2. My old-school rotary phones had bells in them too. It's funny, calling a plain-jane TT phone "old school" until I remember that we mostly use cellphones these days and cordless home phones are usually operated in the same way (deferred dialing).
3. I wouldn't know.

The sound of an 18-wheeler "jake-braking".
I love that sound.
Now that I think about it, same here.
