Anything he does in the near future to kill the grass is going to be an obvious act of vandalism and point at him. Revenge is a dish best served cold (or something like that.) Dandelion seeds will point directly at the OP, even 6 months from now, unless there are half a dozen people who were threatened with legal action over dandelions (in which case, they have half a dozen suspects.)

Besides, dandelions are VERY easy to get rid of with weed killer, especially by anal retentive people who might be regularly treating their lawns anyway. Ditto for kudzu. Sure, it's a pita in the south, where it has had plenty of time to get established. But, if you're HOA "victimes" are anal retentive and pulling out any weeds as soon as they emerge, the kudzu will never get a chance to get established.

Fertilizer might work: leave a message written in fertilizer (or make a design such as stripes on their lawn.) Every time you drive by their lawns and see stripes of greener grass, you'll get a little personal satisfaction. A big smiley face would be neat. :D

I don't know what that has to do with anything, but are you saying you agree with using another's property without permission just because it's available to you?

I agree... if you're going to do the "dandelion bomb"... don't go straight to her house... maybe hit a neighbor or two of her's first... or hit several at once.... if you target just her house it might be too obvious. :)

On a side note: Are there regular HOA meetings? If so... do you attend?

WTF! 10 dandelions in my yard and I get a notice to "remind" me that I'm not in compliance with deed restrictions. 10 dandelions, count them. Of course the threat of "if this is not remedied in 7 days legal action will be taken" is included.

I have half a mind to capture all the seeds and then dump them on the HOA presidents lawn at night, after a good rain so they'll grow nice and strong.

so you are saying the rules you agreed to when you moved in simply don't apply to you?

This was NOT part of the original deed restrictions. They were changed by a lady that hasn't seen a man in 20 years.

Maybe you should pay her a visit :D.
What she lacks in dandelions, she makes up for in cobwebs.

Does this mean that my crab grass farm idea isn't going to fly with the HOA I'm joining? I plan to replace hopps with crab grass and brew beer.

Well that is vengeful and destructive. Great idea though as roundup kills EVERYTHING.

I just want her to taste a little of her own medicine she is dishing out. This isn't passive aggressive behavior as my endeavors have been supported by my neighbors after talking with them this evening. You know, actually keeping good relationships with your neighbors.

Operation dandy-bomb is a go.

If so, I applaud the HOA. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you're going to be an anal retentive jerk you should follow the rules yourself, asshole.

Actually, he's correct. And it's not just people, it's people who willingly connect and authenticate to AP's that they do not have permissions on. Just relax, I guessing from your post you do this often...just play it dumb and you won't go to "Federal Pound You in the Ass" prison. :)

Aye. I think there is even a provision for the kind of grass. No fescue for me, only pesky bluegrass. :(

some people are allergic to bluegrass.

cant you make your yard a wildlife refuge and let it go all "native"

In Florida, I knew someone who lived in a subdivision that REQUIRED them to have 2 palm trees on their lawn. About every other year one or both would die requiring them to buy new ones.

.....Palmettos aren't exactly cheap.

This is what you should do. Pop the houses leading from yours to hers. It'll look like they simply migrated!

If you don't want someone using your WAP, put a password on it.

But my main point is, if spidey is going to be an anal retentive prick about following rules, maybe he should do the same and get rid of the dandelions.

would you like some poison oak & stinging nettles seeds to go along with that ?

i wonder whose HOA was worse.

i put up a smooth cedar fence in a condo complex in San Diego
that had about 500 units. they had the rough splintery cedar
kind of fence.

so they sent me the same kind of nasty-gram.

i took it down & put up a rough cedar fence.

a month later they said smooth cedar is OK and soon a lot of
neighbors had smooth cedar.

I'm glad I'm not the only sick bastard who was thinking of stinging nettle. >:D

How easy is it to get that to grow?

You need to wait a few months to let suspicion blow over you, then before a big rain, dump a pile of salt all over the lawn.

Serve the HOA with a fine requiring them to buy carbon credits to offset the dandelions they had you remove.

NM found your other replies.

I think the frozen roundup in ice cubes is a wonderful idea

I second the Kudzu, or maybe poison ivy...

I don't care how much of a bitch she is, I wouldn't wish poison ivy / oak on my worst enemies.

Good point. Sumac is much more appropriate.
