i think i'd make an M5 wagon (in permanant M-mode), but stick the Mercedes/AMG 6.5 liter bi-turbo V12 in it, for 600+ HP and 700+ lb/ft of torque. to that i'd add toyota's beefiest hybrid system, and add cylinder deactivation to the engine. it would run through a cool SMG/manual hybrid that would allow paddle/auto shifting or fully manual shifting/clutch, depending on what you wanted. the gear shift would have a special slot that would put it into SMG mode. the tranny would be hooked up to Audi's Quattro system (700lb/ft plus the hybrid boost has to get to the pavement somehow). inside, the interior would be designed by lexus, but seats by acura. the rear cargo area would be carpeted with super-tough, stain-resistant carpet to take real-world loading. there would be a trailer hitch. brakes would be the biggest brembos that would fit in the 20" wheels, front and back.

all black, with black wheels, and black tint.

oh yeah, and a couple rally-style driving lights up front. :D

I love mustangs, but hardly.

It's not the most badass mustang, but it is the one that I like the best.

And anyone posting Eleanor in gray is a douche...

$1,000,000,000. To build a single car. This is *WAY* more than the auto industry spends to develop a production supercar. The money can only be spent on paying your design and construction teams, on the vehicle itself, and if you don't spend it all during construction, the balance is still usable only for car-related expenses. Fuel, security, garage, repairs, etc.

Some ground rules:
[*]It can't fly
[*]A maximum of one vehicle. It can be articulated like a truck, but it cannot exceed 90ft in total overall length. If over 30ft overall, the vehicle MUST be articulated.
[*]It may not exceed 13ft tall
[*]Some form of internal combustion engine must be utilized. Propane, diesel, LNG, gasoline, methane, it doesn't matter what the fuel is, it just needs to be an ICE.
[*]You can hire any designers or engineers from company currently extant. You can also contract individual parts out to individual companies.
[*]You *CAN* start with a production vehicle and modify it, if that's your thing.
[*]It must be capable of highway travel in the United States. 2 rearward facing mirrors (or cameras), headlights, tail lights, license plate mount (rear only), 45mph minimum top speed.
[*]Your car may not be fueled by dead cats.
[*]There must be AT A MINIMUM, two seating positions.
[*]No teleportation devices.
[*]Please stick to the laws of physics.
[*]Women not included.

damn, i hate the last rule.
i'm out.

Frame - Lotus : must be around 1200-1500 lbs curb weight. I'd prefer 1000, but I don't think that's possible. Mebee with some extremely expensive material.. What does NASA have?

Suspension and Steering from Porsche : components borrowed from the Carerra GT or race spec car built with the lighest, strongest materials available.

Engine - Porsche : mid-rear mounted Boxer 6 twinTurbo right behind the cockpit tuned to put out about 500 or so HP. (I'm not greedy) - To keep it light, I will decline the AWD drivetrain and stick to RWD. All exhaust ceramic coated a la McLaren so I don't burn up alive in the thing.

Drivetrain / Gearing : Whoever makes the best 6 speed on the floor.

Nothing else. No front nav, air conditioning, what have you. Just lights will be fine, thanks.

Huge meats: 17x11s in the front, 17x13 in the rear. Three peice forged racing wheels.

Right to the point.. A track tested light, agile machine. Basically a GT3 tuned to the hills and lighter then hell.
