I hope Rollo doesnt have Nvidia stock its in the toilet right now, their CEO dumped many of his shares and ran. 🙂 Actually scratch that for his sanity I hope he DOES own Nvidia stock, it would give some context to his rants.

I just did a simple search and found your lying.



I started off saying the NV Silencer is useless on the 6800 Ultra cards (which it is since it only drops temps by ~3, my results were, STOCK:54 idle, NV:51 idle)

Then you said it helps a lot, since it doesnt, unless 2-4 is worth 30 dollars.

Then I replied saying it probably helped because your case temp probably sucked.

Then you replied with


My under load temps were ~ 50C before the NV5, idle temps were ~40C.

And yes, a properly cooled case does wonders, but you like to argue, and can't believe that it's actually possible that someone might know more than you.

6800UEE = stock @ 460/600, overclocked to 520/660 was the best I could do.

If you were refering to a regular ultra (which I doubt there is much differance in temp) thats your problem.


Just leave it be.

My case is fine, 75 degress actually, even with that low of a temp, 50C load?

I don't use anything but air to cool any of my boxes. No water cooling, no phase change. Sorry to disappoint.

And keep egging on the idiot if you want. Doesn't make any difference to me.
 
I've stated it before, but all the information I intend on providing is that I work for a Game developer.
 
well, i also work for a game developer and have 70 or so boxes. Thats all the information I intend to provide.................j/k. I wish.

but how many of these boxes are your own ? I mean many people have access to computing resources on campus or at work, but that doesn't count as their hardware. btw, do you get paid to play games ?
 
This is my own personal inventory, collected over a period of time.

As far as what constitutes my paycheck, I'd rather not go into it. 🙂
 
well my personal inventory of boxes in WORKING order consists of 8 computers, from a Athlon XP 1500+ to a winchester @2.4GHz. But I only use 3 desktops (main,gaming,HTPC) + 1 laptop. Seeing as your employer doesn't support linux too well, I'm certain my linux NFS file sharing setup trumps anything you could possible have.......
