I think what a parent does before and after a "spanking" is more important than the actual spanking itself. A parent cannot just leave their child in fear after the spanking. But at the same time, a parent can't be apologizing for it either. I don't know how to do it, but my parents did it to me a few times but quite effectively because I think I turned out ok. :) For those who have been abused, I'm terribly sorry.

man, i cant believe no one else thought of this.

whenever my parents hit me i used to laugh as hard as i could force it and beg for more. worked even better in public when they smacked me and i would tell them to do it the same way as they did all the time at home, real loud like so everyone in the store knew what was happening.

that siht stopped real quick.

I got my ass whipped on a regular basis when I was a kid. We got paddled in school. I needed it, and I was never subjected to anything that got out of hand.
I don't paddle, whip, stick or give the belt to my kids. My wife doesn't, either, and she knows what the belt was about when she was a kid.
There's no real reason why we don't use corporal punishment on our kids, we just don't. We've managed to find plenty of other ways to deal with them that work just as well as the belt, even if the methods take longer to employ.

i think the majority of us that are 20-35+ would say we got the beats. these days you look at your child the wrong way and someone else will sue you. frig.

i got hit with lots of crap. shoes, dog leash, shelves knocked down, a dresser thrown, even the dog was thrown at me i think once. of course i cant remember a thing i did to deserve it, being an ignorant brat.

ive wacked my kids on the ass with a wooden spoon. they laughed. boys 9 & 4. so now i just make them deal with thier father (who's a push over which doesnt help any) but atleast i dont have to do it.

the hand just isnt enough anymore. it is my experience (disciplining my children) that taking away the PS2 is more painful then any object thrasing bare skin.

Got the mining belt once or twice, but usually just a good ole switch (limber tree limb for the non-hillbilly :D). Mining belt is a large belt, about 3.5 inches in width with a small belt (about 1 inch) that circles it to hold the mining tooling (lights, etc). Heavy fvcker too! :Q

myyounger brother hit me with licorice, a can and wood.

my mom a spoon and her hand and soap....the spoon broke, her hand was injured and I bit the soap regrettibly in half.

My dad has punched, slapped, stuck me with a belt

I only cried with my dad...not because it really hurt but because I knew it would if I didnt....

always for stupid stuff like beating someone almost into a coma with a 40lb stuffed animal with a long tail as a pre-teen :)...it set the stage to holding someone by their feet over the third story of my high school in future years.

Darn, was hoping there would be a POLL. I have gotten the belt, a switch (small/thin branch broken off a tree, really stings, specially on your bare legs), and perhaps other things, but nothing too terribly violent. Last time I got spanked was when I was 12. I forget what I did, but my dad got upset with something I did and it was spanking time. I hadn't gotten a spanking at this point in probably a couple years at least. My dad started a whackin', and I started a laughin', fortunately my dad found this amusing too, and never got another spanking after we realized I had outgrown it's usefullness.

I got the belt, the hand, the switches.

They worked. My dad was a bit quick to spank, but the general theory is certainly sound.

Yup, sure have. My dads fav was the belt, however i once even got beat with those orange hot wheels race track pieces. In all honesty, I think I was beaten more my the franciscan brothers (catholic order of priests) at my school (went to a catholic military school) than I did by my dad. Id have to really mess up to get the belt, but those brothers would smack you around with a book if you looked at them funny.

i got smacked in the ass w/ a meat tenderizer once

i remember my dad had this big ass belt...with a big ass buckle on it
that one sucked

my mom has this like piece of wood..used to beat all of our asses w/ it...she even wrote our names on it
it split from the ass beatings....and she wrote our names on it.....so she made sure we knew it was strictly for our asses.

Only 2 times my dad struck me were with a belt. Don't remember the first time, but the second time was for burning my sister with the car lighter. I deserved it for sure. My mom would smack us on the arm or butt with her hand but that was all. It wasn't an every day thing. As for my kids, I try not to spank them. At times my patience is worn thin and I will give them a quick smack on the butt with my hand. The unfortunate part is that it works.

I exactly know how you feel. I'm in the same situation. I often times don't mention anything to my parents regarding my life. I keep to myself and often times I'm a ? in front of them. They never knew I had a gf, etc.

got spanked more in school than I did at home. The principal would bring another teacher in to witness. That was always humiliating. They'd take this huge paddle and whack you with it, and then wait a few sconds to let the sting set in, then they's wack you again.

Ah, nostalgia. The good old days of a private school.... I remember putting coca cola in a baggie and calling it liquid poop. Got a spankin' for it.

While growing up I got my fair share of ass beatings from my mom and dad. There was always a reason for the ass kicking, parents never did it out of the blue. I never got the belt, but I have had my ass beat and face slapped. Im glad they did it though, made me the man I am today.
