"Or maybe the Danes see the Euro tanking and the whole EU coming undone. Look how much value the Euro has lost vs the dollar."

Ah, Mandrill, it would actually be worse for the US economy if the dollar kept rising & the Euro kept falling. Because it would mean European source products would become a lot cheaper internationally, while American products would get to the stage they would be uncompetitive.

Its already happening - in the last year Airbus has taken more than 10 times the orders for new airliners as the combined Boeing/McDonald Douglas conglomerate. Its only with the 747 (Jumbo) that boeing is holding its own, but the Aibus people are getting into the jumbo business too now, & the jumbo class will go Airbus's way, like the rest of the wide body classes.

"Its funny to read the English papers and see how jealous they are of Irelands success in the European Union, they never once give Ireland credit for being able to work well with others, they accusse them of cheating, living in a bubble economy, etc, etc. Never once admitting the fact that probably the reason Ireland fared so poorly for so long was that they were forced to live under the British economic regime"

Actually Orbious its ally those Euro subsidies & tax subsidies that are keeping Ireland afloat. Once Ireland reaches comparative EEC development levels, most of those subsidies will dissappear. Then you'll see Intel, Samsung, Sony & Apple, etc close up shop & move to Poland, which by then will be in the EEC.

<< Euro subsidies & tax subsidies >>

It is strong economic policy and low taxes that is

<< keeping ireland afloat >>

. The English are jealous that the irish incomes will exceed theirs within a year.
National pride is alot of crap, it has certainly screwed the uk.
