Call me crazy but I?ve always wanted to get a 1995-2004 light green Dodge Grand Caravan, kinda olive drab in colour, and slap a small yellow U.S.Army 1st Calvary Division decal on each front fender. Then drive down the road with both slider doors open blaring Wagner's ?Flight of the Valkyries? over the stereo.

Good luck. What options did you end up with.

My wife really wanted one with a built in DVD player for, gag $2,000 extra! I got a Targus laptop carry bag that fits between the seats combined with an adapter to run the audio through the vans speakers (balanced to the rear) and saved $1,350. The 14.1" widescreen really kicks ass and we can plug in the DeLorme GPS that only cost us $89 if directions are needed. That saves another $2,000 over an in dash system. Got the Compaq v2000z laptop deal a few months back. We haven't messed with games in the van since it is hard for three boys to share.

nope, no indash navigation or dvd systems. i figured for what they were asking for those things, i'd get a laptop for the vehicle also. ;)

power seats with 2 memory settings for drivers side, power side doors and power hatch, leather seats, 4 captains chairs, 6 way climate control, traction control, antilock breaks, some intelligent breaking system that adjusts according to the weight in car, it also has airbags in the side as well as front . . .

i loved the fact that this minivan had so many safety features and the 10 yr 100,000 warranty didn't hurt either.

I'd just ponder why you are wasting your money on options no one needs, then bitching about the price.

if it were just for me, i wouldn't get those options. personally i hate leather upholstery. but my wife wanted it. so she gets what she wants. hey it's her car. my only thing is to get the car she wants for the best price.

The leather is nice with kids - it's so much easier to wipe seats up than shampoo and scrub. And the power sliding doors are handy with kids as well. It's the rest of the options I can't see spending on.

you mean like power locks, power steering, power antilock antiskid brakes, power seats, heated seats, airbags etc?

most of that comes in a package. it's hard to get just leather and power doors without most of the other options.

and you wouldn't save much money at all by selecting JUST the power doors and leather, even if you had the option.

The Sienna had power locks, steering, ABS, and airbags standard. Power seats - take 'em or leave 'em. I've had several cars with and several without, no real preference for me.

Good choice though, I like the Sedonas. Enjoy your new van!

May God Smite You.

I take all my anger in the world on minivans. Cut them off, slow them down, honk at them, they deserve it all for what they've done to me. Freakin' minivans.

How? Even a four year old should be able to close a minivan door.

Any adult should be able to put a key into a door lock and turn it. What's your point?

Does Chrysler still make the Caravan? Those were fully loaded at around $27K.

resale value on kia/hyundai's have gone up a lot.

and it's only a matter of time before they come up more, as long as they continue to produce the type of vehicles they are producing.

also, another thing that sold me was http://www.allnewentourage.com/

it's the all new hyundai entourage and it is a Kia Sedona rebadged (or the other way around). kia's was released first just because they already had a market for the sedona.

also, if you don't mind waiting, kia is supposed to release a SWB version of the Sedona for less money.

check out this review.

also, check out the pics of the sedona on kia's website and compare them to my link in the previous post. they look identical except the badge.

anyway, i got a ticket yesterday, ;( i was driving the kia and a cop pulled me over, i could have sworn i was only doing like 65, but the cop claims he clocked me at 80. this car runs really really smoothly and is very fast at 244 hp + it has a 5 speed sportmatic transmission.
