Have you ever tried turning them all on at once? That could be neat to see a video of that.

I used to always like watching them turn on as a kid, I knew all the ones in my area and how they turned on, some were faster than others, some with flash or do weird things.

Was also interesting to try to figure out when they turn off, and then wait for it. Yeah I was weird. lol

I remember when I was a kid I could tell which ones were HPS or MV (During the day when they were not on) I was almost always right (A couple were changed to HPS and they did not change the NEMA tag)
I also remember that I liked the nice blue-green glow of the Mercury Vapor streetlamps and I was mad when they were changed to the Evil orange glow (HPS)
I then dubed HPS just "Stupid evil orange" What? I was five

besides, i find street lights more interesting than any other kind of light. i dunno why.

Yes I will measure today.

Where? I know at the time this fixture was made, AE's headquarters were in Memphis, TN. Not sure if they ever made their own glass though. Could be Corning or Holophane. There is probably a stamp somewhere on the glass.

After installing thousands of fixtures (no street lamps) including several dozen 400w metal halide wall packs, I look at them with disdain. Hobbies don't need to be explained, but this seems like a strange one. These fixtures are not really works of art, just the most cost effective way of making light.

I used to hang old motherboards on my wall, and am no stranger to weird collections, but at least with my collection I could see how things changed from the various years motherboards were made. I gave up on collecting them around the SocketA/478 days, but even that was a huge change from the oldest 386/25 I had.
