I'll have to go with the others who say Ireland. They've got a great quality of life there and most of the country is beautiful. The history is so in your face there (and many places in Europe from what I see). If my husband-to-be and I like it when we go in a couple weeks, we'll consider going back there again soon for another vacation and maybe eventually to live. You know, just for a change of scenery.
That's awsome. I'd love to have that opportunity.
I think more people should go live in another country for a few years. It would do a lot to break down the self-centered, narrow-mindedness that many Americans seem to have.
I know. We're just starting out, so I figure seeing the world is a good place to start! My parents aren't too happy, but considering I live in a town of about 10,000 people, I wouldn't expect them to understand.
If I could give you one word of advice it would be to take those chances and see the world. It's too bad your parents aren't more encouraging, my Mom was when I was in my teens/early 20s and that's part of the reason I moved across the country to try living in Los Angeles. That was almost 20 years ago and I still live here (from upstate NY originally).
The distance just makes the time you do spend together that much more special.
Good luck!
