The whole problem with this arguemwnt is 1) it's been debated fleming was a racist, and 2) Shaft was also a racial by-product...it'd be like trying to say Knuta from Roots could have been white. Despite what Fleming may or may not be, I don't think Bond was ever laid out as having a white skin color as a pre-requisite.

Welcome to pre-internet about black Bonds and Black Bond 'chicks', 'Black' bonds/Bond women have been discussed over 5 years ago.

Will Smith played a decent James West in Wild West. A 'white' TV character. That was flaming too.

The comic Spawn pissed off many people when the twist was that the apparent 'white guy' was actually black.

There are a lot of 'black' people in England....those that say Bond could never be not-white are taking hollywood's presentation. I am sure there are a TON of people that originally thought of Bond as a person that was not white when they read the stories.


 
Also saying P.Diddy....Puff Whatever, has no talent is the moronic statement. The dude is a multi-millionaire. What is anyone in this thread that is flaming him?

Talent is a very subjective thing, most just want to be entertained. Regardless...millions are buying what he's selling....ask yourself who is buying you.

For every 'Jon Bon Jovi' out there, there is a local corner in most metropolitian areas with someone of equal talent.

I suspect I know what makes James Bond a pasty english dude... But what makes the Lois Lane or Catwoman necessarily white women? What has marvel or dc possibly done to cement the ethnic ancestry of their cartoons who's actual skin tones are decided by paper and ink?

Beyonce as Lois Lane? Just when you think Hollywood can't suck badly enough...

Don't forget the Kingpin in DareDevil, though I thought he did an OK job. I think he could have done even better if he had more to do in the movie, and more time to work with the role. His initial appearance was rough, but I thought he got better at it.
