Can't you bottle breast milk? Why not just pump before you leave, bottle it up and throw it in a insulated bag with an icepack (I don't know how long that stuff keeps).
I don't think my mom wipped out her breasts in public for me when I was a kid. I always had a bottle.
were you breastfed at all? will your wife breastfeed your children?
I believe that I was breastfed at home, but when in public I had a bottle
probably because breastfeeding was even more chastised in public at that time then it is now.
you should ask you mom if society was more open about it if she would have breastfed you in public. the convenience cannot be denied.
YOUR convenience is not always beneficial to everyone else. It may be convenient to use a cell phone in church or at a funeral, but is it really appropriate?
Your child is helpless and can't take care of itself. It has to pee/poop just like the rest of us and doesn't have the luxury of doing so itself. So, the baby has to be changed.
So that being said, is it appropriate to change your baby anywhere you want to b/c it HAS to be done?
i really don't think your comparisons apply. using a cell phone or changing a diaper isn't near what feeding a child is.
Can a baby take care of itself? No.
Can a baby feed itself? No
Can a baby change its own diaper? No.
If feeding a baby is a task done by the mother to nourish her baby who can't feed itself, then how is that any different from a mother changing her baby's diaper b/c it can't do so for itself?
Both are tasks critical to taking care of your child and have to be performed by the parent.
If your baby just dropped a big ass SMELLY load in his/her diaper and you are sitting next to someone, you don't just sit there and let the other person be inconvenienced by your pooping/smelly baby. You get up and go change the diaper or move somewhere where the smell isn't disgusting someone else.
If your kid has to breast feed and you're sitting next to that same person, don't you feel that some people may be uncomfortable with you whipping out your breast and having your kid suck away right beside them?
It's not always about YOU (not you, moshquerade
😉)
