ted cruz said the tweets are horrible and that if they're true he needs to be prosecuted

https://twitter.com/tedcruz/status/1020665661486522368

always remember what john boehner said about ted cruz

Lucifer in the flesh, I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.
-john boehner, When asked his opinions on Ted Cruz during an appearance at Stanford University.

Gotta love liberals burning their own people. It's like reliving the Salem witch trials

Yeah, its much better to be a Trumpette and stand by murderers, rapists, pedos, thieves, and traitors until the day they die and decades afterward.
You fuckin moron.

Also, the girls at Salem were burned by conservatives. Ignorant, scared, hateful individuals who let the church do all their thinking for them and ignored science completely.

RIP Gotg3

So they dug up old tweets from a decade ago & he got fired over them? Are people not allowed to grow up & mature anymore?

To be fair, this is Disney we are talking about. There are things it may or may not do, and things it may or may not have known about people they work with, but once it's fully out in the public and there is a simple fix, it'll be deployed. Like firing a person. They don't want to be caught up in that mess.

Things Disney has said/done over the years? They can't really do much about that so they just don't acknowledge it.

I don't think James Gunn will have any difficulty finding new work and he'll be fine from this, but I'll certainly miss him in the MCU.

Yup. Yup. Also yup.

You look at his directing history & like Ichinsan's video above, you wonder why they hired him in the first place.

But he's literally made them over a billion dollars. Their loss. I thought he did a fantastic job directing GOTG.

Hopefully they can get the guy who did Thor 3 for the next one...

More like a victim of his own ignorant and provocative behavior. Will people in the spotlight *ever* learn to keep their freaking mouths shut on social media? But who cares anyway, all the GOG disintegrated anyway.

exactly. if i was tweeting the kind of stuff he did and my employer found out, i'd almost certainly be fired.

people's unfiltered mind dumps are catching up with them? well, it's their fault.

We're all just as likely these days to face this kind of situation. It used to be the things we said and did weren't recorded for all of history. Now they are. I know for sure I have said many things that, if taken out of context, could lend me in a heap of trouble. Audience matters, of course, but there are many variables we cannot control. We all gamble a bit just rambling online (oh, just me?), many of us will be fine but all it takes is some stupid decision to be brought to the attention of the world and next thing you know you are either looking for a new job or, worse, trying to weather whatever the internet brigades are trying to do. All it takes is pissing off the wrong person and suddenly your whole life is exposed to the world.

It's also a reason I avoid Twitter like the plague. I've posted a few things to customer support accounts but that's it.

Once upon a time, one would say that regardless of your position you were entitled to an opinion without much scrutiny unless it was something like "Heil Hitler! Nazis should have won!"

God forbid you make some politically incorrect jokes 10 years ago. I read them and the majority were just puns. I feel like you guys wouldn't even be able to take a stand up comedy bit...

I mean, I get it- and I sure wouldn't say that stuff in their position... but that's because it's a recent change not a new one. I don't even have a twatter account, and I seldom post anything on Facebook. The fact that you guys are so accepting of it now though is frankly kind of sad.

I don't have 'social media', but he couldn't delete those old posts?

I don't even know who he is, but it's slightly amusing to me if he's made boat loads of money directing movies for a company and now is fired and deemed reprehensible then what about his prior work? He was reprehensible back then but where's the outcry for his previous work?

People had a thicker skin back then. Now a lot of people are a bunch of offended pansies.

I don't know, the stuff I saw did seem pretty bad. It was mostly just support for child molesters and links to underage pornography. I'm pretty hard to offend, but I'd fire the shit out of anyone if they worked for me and I saw that stuff in their history.

What's really mess up is Josh Hader of the Brewers a couple of weeks ago had his racist, homophobic, etc tweets exposed for when he was 17:

https://thegrio.com/2018/07/23/base...-after-racist-and-homophobic-tweets-revealed/

and all he got so far from MLB is having to take sensitivity classes. I don't think he got any fines. When he returned after the All-Star game he got a standing ovation...

There is a difference between being 17 and 40. The MLB prospect who got convicted for molesting his cousin didn't get a shot at playing after it came out.

Sure at 17 you're pretty immature, but I think when you say things like KKK you're aware of what they mean. No?

Who was the MLB prospect? Rivera's cousin?

Accept it or not, right or wrong, that is the way the world is now. Denying reality wont change it.
There is also a difference between "having an opinion" and spouting it on twitter. It is also not in any way close to going to a stand up comedy show. That is a limited audience, and depending on the performer, they should pretty well know what they are paying to see.
