Over the years I have belonged to four "high IQ" societies: Mensa, Intertel, ISPE, and Four Sigma. The only one of these to which I still belong (and the only one which, in my view, is worth the membership fee) is Mensa, which offers several excellent publications and has given me access to some of the liveliest social events I have ever had the pleasure of attending.
There is quite a bit of useful information about such groups here, although I cannot vouch for the timeliness of all the links.
WW- Hey i scored a 156 here and in HS scored like 160 on some IQ test. But basically what the hell does it mean? I mean I can't spell real good and my grammer sucks got average grades in college and well never really excelled ever acidemically. IMO it's complete bull.... I mean so what you can put a cube together from the parts thereof and you can fiqure out some pattern from a group of numbers or words. BFD- hows this gonna help anyone in real life? Plus I've heard these tests are biased.....For example if they asked Yaht is to regata as Dog is to X...Most intercity kids have no idea what the hell a regata is so whould end up getting it wrong.. Oh well.. Guess some poeplefeel better about themselves if they have a quantifiable measure that they are smarter than others and mensa allows for that self adulation.
