It's different every day. It gets slower and slower over the course of a few days until I restart my router, then it goes back up to full speed and then starts getting slower again.

The best it reaches is 4.2mb/s down, .5mb/s up.

As far as I know, shitty routers don't have enough memory in the routing table is the problem. Or the firmware is poorly written.

basic ATT DSL :(

Much faster internet on campus though, so I don't worry about it. This is good enough for basic web surfing at home.

This is from the Speakeasy test going to the San Francisco location (I live in San Jose). The results vary widely depending on the remote location. For example, testing against New York results in:

I got almost the exact same numbers...which I guess makes sense considering we have the same service. At least they're consistent...plus the improvements they've made recently are A+ in my book.
