Holy crap, Bob Etheridge? I know this guy. WTF. I'm not going to try to excuse this, but there has to be more to it than this. Or the guy just had a breakdown.

If you see the whole video, there is nothing more to it than Etheridge committing simple assault in front of two(2) cameras. LOL.

He must've just snapped. I can't imagine what the guy has been going through this year with the political climate the way it's been. No excuse though, and if that's the case it's time for him to get out for his own sake.

People can blow at the drop of a hat. Good thing the Congressman wasn't packing.

North Carolina Rep. Bob Etheridge, the Democratic Congressman who appeared to hit a camera being wielded by a self-identified student who approached him on the street asking questions, has apologized for what he calls his "poor response" to the situation.

"I have seen the video posted on several blogs," Etheridge said in a statement. "I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse."

So a "conservative racist hillbilly" assaulted him in his district?

I'm sure he's been assaulted to varying degrees on a daily basis since Obama was elected. Conservative racist hillbillies are damn near a bona fide special interest group in this district. There's no question why those kids were trying to associate him with Obama on camera.

Bla, bla, bla. If it hadn't been posted, he wouldn't have apologized. If he is sincere, invite the student back to DC at his expense, give the kid a formal public apology, and let the kid interview him. Then, I'd take his apology serious.

So Dems assault people, and Reps have homosexual affairs? :awe:

At least he didn't initiate the interaction, say in an airport men's room or a gay bar, and try to suck his dick or date him.

As improper as this was, you've got to give him that. :awe:

Thank goodness we have determined he is not gay. Teh ebil gayness might have rubbed off on those poor students. We couldn't tolerate it if he was gay, correct?

At least Bush didn't start the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in a gay bar or airport men's room. I guess that makes it OK then to you!

You really should stick to off-topic else I think we might soon be seeing posts from you about how you were required to show id to purchase some vinegar.

Well if someone from Cleveland says so.

Actually I'm from Texas, jackass. Just happen to be living here for the time being. I fail to see where I live has any bearing at all, though.

Are you trying to generalize people based on where they are from? You really think that is a smart thing to do?

Regardless, though, being that you slander others as "racist hillbillies" for no clear reason is somewhat of an indication that you lack the ability to think critically and instead would rather just generalize people with sophomoric insults.

The reason I "slander" folks as racist hillbillies is because they are racist hillbillies. I grew up with some of them. Hell, I'm related to some of them. Do you live in a place where you hear Obama referred to as great person publicly or have klan graffiti spray painted on road signs? I'm not making generalizations about some phantom group of people. There are racists here, in this county, who are by and large conservative and hillbillies. And I'll tell you, you're doing a pretty good job of reinforcing some of the generalizations about folks from Texas. Jackass.
