Why even talk to the sales people? Every time I go in Best Buy they ask if I need help and I say no. The only time I talk to them is if I need them to get something for me.

BB blows. Last time I was there trying to buy a PS3 that wasn't on the shelf and it was impossible to get anyone to help me. Went to laptop section and got manager and still failed. Got tired of waiting so just bought it online with store pickup from inside the store, lol. Girl from staff then came to look for it in the game section where I was. "Are you here for the PS3?" I asked. "Yeah. . . ?" she replied. "Yeah, that's me." Lol. She went into the back and got one and I was on my way.

yea for reals, thats what I thought too, sounds like he researched, knew exactly what he wanted, but wanted to sound impressive about it to a random stranger on the phone about his laptops needs, and not even take into consideration the needs of his relative who would probably suffice with a chromebook but instead he requires an IB based core ? Why ?

Agreed that chromebooks are sufficient for most of everybodys relatives that are not power users. For OP to dismiss those easily he probably is the one that needs education. Thinking outside of his box, instead of mandating their relatives CPU be based on an IB core, that may be more misleading and show lack of education than saying a Chromebook will not meet the needs of a layperson.

Chromebooks are small and light and just fine for most of our relatives.

The whole purpose of the laptop is to run skype. You can't run skype on a Chromebook. Thus they were out of consideration.

Edit: If they came out with a Skype set-top box, I would have considered that too. But a laptop seemed like the easiest, most straight-forward, solution.

What kind of superiority complex do you have? Browse their site or look at the tags. Calling them and being a dick in the store makes you much less of a person than the guy making $8/hr trying to feed his family.

I'm not sure why you think I have a superiority complex.

If I called a hardware store, and asked for their cheapest shovel, do you think I appreciate them wasting my time try to sell me a cheaper trowel, and claiming it can do everything a shovel does?

If I go to a car dealership and ask them about minivans, and the quote me a ridiculously cheap price, and I find out that they were trying to sell me a smart car, does that mean I have a superiority complex for calling them out on their cluelessness?

I bought an Acer V5, with an IB Celeron 1007U and Win7 64-bit, from Newegg. I mentioned that specifically in my thread in the SFF / Pre-built / Laptop forum.

Less than a week later, my mom wanted a solution to allow my grandmother to skype. So I led her to buy an Acer V5, with a SB Celeron 847 and Win8 64-bit, from Target.

So, oh clueless one, there were TWO laptops, and I was NOT lying.

But you've proven how much of an asshole you can be by accusing innocent strangers of lying, over the internet.
