Yeah, yeah, more porn from Audi...

I thought the M5 was porky at 4,000 lbs. But I guess when you're at such weight, what's another 350 lbs. 😉

It doesn't really appeal to me - again Audi has put the engine ahead of the front axle and made a SUPER-heavy, AWD car. There's no way the laws of physics will allow this thing to handle especially well, so it's essentially suited to autobahn cruising. I'm sure it's a highly competent car, but at the end of the day I don't see the point of a 572-hp supersedan like this.

Oh wow, yeah. I just took a look at the drivetrain pics and the motor is fully clear of the front towers. Not cool.

Oh, and it looks exactly like every other Audi on the planet...boring.

Exactly, although I think the R8, A5/S5 are pretty stylish. Give me this motor in an RS5 package and we might be talking! Oh, and trim a few hundred (or even a thousand, lol) pounds and we might be talking. This makes the mammoth GT-R look like a featherweight.

i believe it overheated. i'd rather take the TDI anyway, just for the diesel coolness factor. but if they could pull off the TT V10.. the R8 would be balls to the walls fast, especially with DSG! :Q

so that 8minute ring time means nothing about its handling?

^^ Power/weight is important, and it's also probably a tire-chewer. Look at the ring time of the considerably less-powerful M3, and you get an idea of the importance of balance.

To all the people saying this car is heavy and nose heavy, go drive one first.

I had the same doubts with the S4 but it doesn't feel nose heavy at all and most impotently, it feels SOLID.

As far as this car, who cares about how it handles, its a highway cruiser, no more.

I hate all these "omg this doesn't handle good enough for me" posts. Please STFU unless you track your car on a regular basis, otherwise, enjoy your "spirited" backroad driving, until you hit some little kid on a bike or someone pulling out of their driveway.

The cars you buy for handling are Lotus', Porsche GT3's, etc, etc, not an Audi RS6 family sedan. The RS6 handles plenty good for what it's meant to do,be driven on public roads and highways; its got the right rubber and the AWD. Call me when you buy an RS6 to track it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. 😀

Well, the RS6 obviously handles pretty damned well to pull an 8min Ring time 🙂 It's just somewhat troubling to see Audi succumb to the 'overweight' trend. The CTS-V sort of trumps the M5 and RS6, which I never thought would happen, but it did.

Oh, and people can have fun with great handling/nimble vehicles without taking them to the track. It's just a 'feel', and the added confidence is nice. I replaced a Buick LeSabre with the 3800-II with a little Ford Focus, and although the LeSabre was a lot more powerful (particularly at 45+ speeds), the Focus 'feels' so much tighter, and handles/grips very well on twisty fun little side roads.

Most importantly, it's good to find something that *you* like, let others have whatever opinions they want, so long as you're happy with what you got.

The thing is, I care how ANY car handles, and certainly any 572-bhp car I'm going to spend $100K on. There are plenty of great-handling cars that are practical for daily-driver duty (most obviously the BMW 3 Series cars) and will, IMO, be more fun than this car for taking on a Sunday drive.
