Oh yea. He wasn't too happy when the judge told him he was wrong. I kinda chuckled after we left.
Oh absolutely. And that's a lot more subjective and impossible to fight. The cop says you were driving unsafe for conditions and you might as well pay up.
no I had a ticket in 03 (illegal right on red) and a speeding ticket in 98. That's it since I was 18yo. He said it was 'relatively' clean and appreciated my honesty when he asked about priors. This was after I watched him throw the book at a few people who were evidently very bad drivers
A "lower charge" really doesn't matter. The amount of the traffic fine rarely matters. The infraction itself will jack your insurance rates up to the point where saving a few bucks on the fine is laughable. That's one reason not to admit guilt.
Traffic school is a good option, if it's offered, and usually only for first time speeders (which the OP may qualify for).

I didn't post this yet.
I got pulled over last Friday night.
When he came to my window he leaned the Flashlight in practically to my face (they have alcohol sniffers in them now).
They also do that to check if your eyes dilate (drugs)
It didn't register anything because I didn't have anything.
He didn't say anything so I asked him "What is the issue"?
He said both me and my passenger (my wife) threw out cigarette butts and he has to write me up for littering.
I said to him "Neither my wife or I smoke, you can look but there are no cigarettes in this car or any way to light a cigarette and we had our windows up, TRY AGAIN".
His response was the standard "Let me see your License, Registration and Insurance".
After sitting for 15 minutes he came back and just said "Drive safe".

You might not have to. I didn't have to sign mine when a cop gave me one.
It works differently depending on the state, but in NY you have to sign the ticket and indicate if you plead guilty or non-guilty, then send it to the court office. Also in regards to your address being wrong, near where you sign there is a spot that says if your address on the ticket/drivers license isn't correct, then provide your local address in this space so that future correspondence can be sent to you.

So what is the speed limit on an offramp? I got pulled over recently for this. I was travelling under the speed limit on the highway, maintained a fair amount of the speed on the offramp, and took a right turn at the signal light at the end of it (under green) at about the speed limit of the road (30-35). I was in control the entire time, no squealing tires or anything. Officer said I was going about 60 through the 90 degree turn , which is not possible in my heavy family sedan with no performance anything. Estimated speed, no radar gun or anything.
I'm not sure if I would have gotten a ticket though as my police officer friend came along and chatted with the officer (same department) and I got off.
This is the second time in the past few months I've been pulled over for violations I think I'm innocent of (first time I got a ticket which was quickly thrown out), so I'd like to have some facts to back me up if it happens again.

speed limit is 35....but yeah, that is what happened to me...Traveling at speed limit on highway (55) and it abruptly turns into a 35 with a very abrupt warning. It is basically the end of the highway, so it ends there. There are three exits, but the one I took just goes straight to a stop light (no turns or curves, just straight).

But some officials worry that the Sniffer might be an illegal search inside a DUI suspect's car.
It looks like an ordinary heavy-duty flashlight, the kind that police officers carry when they pull over drivers at night.
But this flashlight has a secret. It can smell alcohol on your breath.
It's called the Sniffer. Its critics call it unconstitutional, but that's never been decided in court.
The high-tech device, priced at $650
The Virginia-based company says sales are climbing, although it won't discuss exact figures.
The Sniffer detects alcohol in the air. As the person speaks, a tiny pump at the end of the flashlight sucks in his breath and analyzes it.
In seconds, a bar-graph display on the flashlight shows whether alcohol is present, and approximately how much.
Civil liberties groups say it's an invasion of privacy, violating the Fourth Amendment right that protects against unreasonable search and seizure.
Police can check for alcohol without someone's knowledge or prior consent.
"They're reaching into your vehicle with an electronic device," said John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute, a Virginia-based group.
"That's the sort of thing you expect in Eastern Bloc countries or Communist China, not the United States."
Kelsey, the company's president, counters that the Sniffer is just an extension of a police officer's nose, and nobody questions whether it's okay for police to smell alcohol on a driver's breath.
He thinks the Sniffer would win a legal challenge.
"Extending the Fourth Amendment right to body vapors -- I think the Supreme Court would consider that a bit of a reach," Kelsey said.
He knows of no arrests based solely on a positive reading by the Sniffer. Instead, he said, officers use it to establish probable cause to do other sobriety tests.
