why thank you. but I should point out, your one to talk. no matter WHAT you don't let somebody get the living crap beat out of them for 20 minutes wile you willfully sit by and listen. I don't care what your room mate did or didn't do, or even how you can try to justify yourself, its not the wife's RIGHT to take that judgement into her hands. we have a legal system, that is how disputes are solved in this county correctly.

Did it ever occur to you that your roommate could have died as a result of this? As you sat by and did nothing? How would you justify your story to the police had there been need of a murder investigation?

Point well made. It's your choice to contact INS. Just as Gunrush's decision was his and his alone. Not much more I can say that hasn't been said.
 
i have an idea....instead of replying 700 times with "stop being ignorant. things were much more complicated," why don't you say WHY THINGS ARE COMPLICATED. i know why, it's because you are full of crap, you're just making excuses.

My feeling exactly, and part of the reason why I posted what I did.
 
Nitemare,it happening in his front yard is reason enough for him to stop it. It's not as if it were some Bad asses out there beating her up, it was just another women.

I belive he is refering to my "threat" of reporting the absent minded individuals actions to the INS.
 
Some people need the crap beaten out of them. Maybe your roomate was one of these people. But you still should have at least kept an eye on what was going on in case it really got out of hand.

i must have missed what you read because i was unable to force myself to read pages 3-5 of this thread. it just reeks of stupidity

As I pointed out before.

I HAVE had the crap kicked out of me before, and by "pro's" (Five Marines while "I" was in the Marines) and I MEAN kicked! They had me down in the street KICKING the crap out of me for around 15-20 min. And I'm 5'6" 150lbs. ALL of them were bigger than me!
I lived, and learned.

Now what we are talking about here is ONE woman fighting with ONE woman.

Most "CAT" fights I've ever seen (and I haven't seen many thank god) involved slapping, scratching, and screaming. But not much more than that!
AS Gunrush pointed out, she wasn't even bleading after this whole affair. So that leads me to believe that THIS was a typical girl fight.

Was she badly hurt?
NO
Is she OK now?
YES
Did she learn a valuable leason?
It appears she did, as it seems she is no longer seeing this married man.

End of story!

I think Gunrush did the right thing!

And as was also pointed out earlier in this thread, there are MAJOR differances in the culture that these people are from.
If you don't know that culture and their norm's of dealing with this type of situation you have no right IMO to judge them for those actions.
Also, until your in a situation like this. You can talk ALL day long about what YOU would have done, but you don't know HOW you would really react until the time comes.

So give the guy a brake!!

I'm going to assume his roommate is from an Asian background. I have lots of Asian friends and I'm well aware of their respect for elders. However, I have seen it broken lots of times. What culture allows two people fight and nobody can interfer unless they are older and more wiser.

I hope this thread gets locked, its nothing but a flamewar that he started from the beggining. Was he looking for people to agree with his LACK of action? I don't know why he started this thread after being banned for it .. to spite the mod that banned him?
 
True enough.

But the bottom line (as I see it) is she's OK now.

And where as this womans pleading with her over and over on the phone had little effect at getting her to leave her man alone. This seems to have gotten the point across!

Believe me. I'm a VERY non violent person. I don't even step on bugs. But I CAN see the married womans side of this.
Some times human natures basic instinct take's over and people do things that they may not normaly do.
I think this was one of those cases.
Would I do the same in Gunrush's place?
I don't know,
Would I do the same thing if someone was trying to steal my S.O.?
Once again, I don't know. I don't THINK I would. But until the situation arose, I couldn't be sure.
I don't think anyone in here could be sure.

IMO all's well that ends well.
And I think EVERYONE involved learned something from this. And in the end. Isn't THAT what life's all about?

He is as guilty as she is. Even more so in my opinion.
And as I stated earlier, I'm sure he is paying for it in one way or another.
Women DO have lots of ways to get even, without EVER raising thier hands.

I'm sorry, I don't sympathize with the married women one bit. Why is the roomate at fault for being with her husband. HE is the one that cheated on his wife. He is the one that continued it. He is the one that risked his marriage and kids over a cheap f*ck. Maybe, the wife is jelouse or acting out of rage that gives her no excuse. Take your rage elsewhere.. we live in a civilized society.
