After five angry emails and a thread of complaint/protest against the mod who banned me, I finally recieved a reply:


Gunrush,

We have reconsidered our action locking your account on our forums. Obviously, one of our moderators disagreed with your actions. We discussed the events you described, and he now understands the pressures and problems this has caused you.

We sincerely hope your roommate is doing well. Your account is unlocked, and you are welcome to post on AnandTech Forums.

I have to say, I was wrong for thinking that the mods are nothing but unfair and inconsiderate. It took some guts and morals to admit a wrongdoing and recify it, especially when you're in a position where you cant afford to commit such wrongdoings. Thanks to the mods who were on my side, and :disgust: to the mod who banned me. As for the topic in question itself, I still think I did the right thing by not intervening, and those who would call me a coward simply dont have the full picture. That is my fault; for leaving out so many details and reasons that calls for laissez-faire in that situation, I set myself up for it. But since that would take pages, I should not have even made the original thread. So I apologize to the two people I bitterly and abusively criticized for calling me a coward (including the mod). Anyway, thanks to not only the mods who put some sense into the mod who banned me, but to some of you members who protested and got their attention in the first place. Cheers.

Gunrush was HOME and could HEAR her roommate getting beatup outside, but he chose to do nothing. The spineless sh*t.

A mod saw his thread and banned him because he was harboring an illegal alien. I don't think Gunrush should have been banned, but I disagree with his decision to ignore his roommates plea for help.

im not gonna go in circles here... but let me reiterate that i only told you a small part of the story and there is a lot of information that you are missing. for one, its a difference of culture, which plays a big part in why i didnt intervene. i dont think anyone should express their opinions on this matter since they no next to nothing

yeah i shouldnt have, and i regret it. i made the post out of anxiety, dont you think its pretty dumb of YOU to criticize intelligence for a post made out of anxiety??

You must realize from what you said in your original post there is nothing there that could have made anyone support what you did. You obviosly left out the facts which made you do what you did.
 
as for the spineless sh*t comment, you should know there are situations where acting like a little arrogant hero is the coward way as opposed to containing yoru anger and frustration within/ this is one of those sitautiosn

exactly, and i left it out becuase its way too complicated to explain. trust me
 
I don't agree with what he did, but why should a mod ban him because of things happening in his life? It's not like he did anything wrong ON THIS FORUM, so why ban him from it.
