The only way to find out is to actually talk to her. Stuff like that is just a way of being nice. For the love of God just talk to her and ask her out sometime.

Problem is that she's working. She doesn't have the time to chat (for a long period of time, that is) with me. Last week, when I was reading my book, she came to me and asked me what I was reading and then a customer came to pay her bill.

You can get around that, next time she comes to chat ask her for her number.

Are you a good tipper?

Yes I am. Usually leave more than 15%. I know where you're coming. 😉

But let me tell you this, once I made a wrong addition of the tip and gave her something like 10% (it's quite cheap around here). The next week, I excused myself about the cheap tip I gave her and she told me "Oh yeah? Really? I didn't notice."

why do you feel you need "permission" to ask any girl for her number at any particular situation or instance?

Because her "Freak Alert" will ring if I don't try to know her a little more before asking it. 😉

i would ask her out, if she winked at you, and botherd to try and start a conversation about asking what book you were reading, i'd be pretty comfortable with making a move

If there's a real connection there, she might be the one who'll make the first move. Otherwise, I'm sure she gets asked out a lot within that pub.

Have you asked her yet? If so, let us know what her exact words are! 😀

I'm a waiter part-time... trust me the broads at work don't act this way to a customer unless they like them. Sure they can be friendly and such, but once winking and "happy to see you comments" are involved, its your invite to ask her out.
S-C-O-R-E !

I dunno, can't people be friendly with each other w/o ulterior motives? I flirt with chicks at work all day long but that doesn't mean I want to date them. Just a part of having fun and being friendly.

It has little to do with the amount of "time" you know her. Her freak alert will go off if you ask her for her number and are all nervous and awkward and wierd about it. Be cool, Be confident, and be someone interesting that she may actually want to see outside of work/school/store whereever you meet the target.

If you aren't a freak, then just act normal. What is the problem? Calm, cool, collected, let the whiskey do the talkin'.

Hello ATOT,

On times to times, my friend and I go to a pub to drink good (like in imported) beers. We often are served by the same waitress. She's very cute and I'd like to know her more.

1- This fall, she remembered when was the last time we came (1 month ago) and where we were in the pub.
2- Once, while at her cash register, I happened to look in her area and she winked at me.
3- She told me she was happy to see me (when I went alone last week).

I think these behaviors are much more than what her job is asking her. Being a waitress, she's got to be kind toward her clients.

So, I am asking you ATOT, are her behaviors "weird" and is it doable to ask her on a date while she's working? If you're working (or worked) in a pub, how would you like to be asked on a date?

Cliffs:
1- Often go to the same pub where a cute waitress works.
2- Her behavior seems to be more than kind toward me.
3- I wonder if I can ask her on a date and how?

**No pics and will never have, sorry... So, I guess it's banning time! 😛 **

No her behaviours are not "weird" they are perfectly natural, if it wasn't for behaviours like flirting with the people you think are attractive the human race would have died out by now. And yes, you can ask her on a date. Say something like, "I hope this doesn't seem rude, but would you like to hang out some time, maybe go see a movie..?"

Hey, if I was a waitress, I wouldn't wink at anyone unless I was interested in them beyond the level of getting some cash at the end of a meal. If you said on your way out, "Let me know if you'd like to get a cup of coffee sometime," and I was interested, I would usually respond, "Yeah, sure, let me write my number down for you real quick."

If I wasn't interested, I think a lot of girls might say, "Yeah, sure," and then neglect giving out their phone number and never do anything about it. Or flat out say no.

I think most girls would prefer the ball be left in the guy's court, so I would lean towards trying to get her phone number rather than giving yours.

Ask her out though. I think those are good signals. Good luck.

/thumbsup
