Nashville Christian school shooting leaves 3 children, 3 adults dead

A 28-year-old shooter, with two semiautomatic weapons and a handgun, opened fire inside The Covenant School, police said. The school serves preschool to sixth grade.

The school is pre-K to 6th grade, so these victims were small kids. My son turned 8 yesterday and I couldn't imagine him not coming back from school one day because of this.

If only there was something that could be done to help prevent these shootings, something that other first world countries have figured out already...

And this is why I will never tell any of my colleagues around the world to move here. Visit? Sure. See the US and how beautiful this country is. But I can't in good conscience say to live here and send your kids to school here. Sure the odds are technically low, but they're infinitely greater than the infinitesimally small risk in schools in their native countries.

Too many guns, too many unstable gun owners.
Frankly, ALL GUNS should be banned across all America because Americans are not capable nor stable enough to own or to use or to handle a gun, period.
You wouldn't hand out guns in the looney ward would you? Well, same applies to America in general. America is just one big looney ward, with a love of guns and a citizenry incapable of basic reason. Need proof? Take the NRA who believes the answer to gun violence is adding more guns into the mix. That sure sounds like looney ward insanity to me.

Vietnam introduced the assault weapon. A single weapon capable of mowing down the enemy in large numbers. How and why a weapon only used in combat came to be the stable of American life and available to anyone and everyone who desires such a weapon is absolute insanity, and yet here we are.
But as I see it, with every mass shooting you have the surviving family members switching from pro gun advocate to pro gun control advocate. Eventually, we'll have enough families touched by gun violence switching into the pro gun control column. Enough that maybe assault weapons can once and for all be totally banned despite what the NRA wants. Eventually, but we're getting there. We're getting there indeed.

He’s projecting. Like a lot of righties, they have no problem with people dying from violence when it’s the “right” people. These same people are hoping for a civil war so they can kill their fellow Americans. They have no clue how far gone they are, to them propaganda is reality.
