i would think so, he supposedly created humans and we are sinful. IMO, god comes off as a bit of a screw up in the bible. i mean come on.

You are assuming god is inherantly "good".
A being that is everything, would include evil.

You are looking at it from the typical limited human perspective.
Personification in the most divine way.

I thought evil came from satan, who was a former angel of God. The angel then wanted to become more powerful than God. When God found this or something he banned him from heaven.

I dunno, maybe I wrong, but isnt that what happen?

Edit: Doh! Spelling....

I worship the devil. So to me he is good. Therefor the only evil he created was himself.

The key here is that God allows free will. That is the basis on which this existence has been created.. evil comes from this.

Without evil how would you know what good was?

The answer is that both are lies created in the mind as human coping mechanism for coming to grips with the very very vast universe around them.

If there is a god(which I'm pretty sure there isn't) she simply created and humans put labels on everything.

How is this a limitied human perspective? If God wanted us to be able to understand, why did he/she give us a limited perspective? Kinda defeats the whole purpose of him wanting us to believe in him if there are so many hypocrisies in religion.

But he could have just not created evil and still left us free will. And if you are going to argue that he needs to let us choose evil as well in order to be free, you have to be saying that you know that good and evil are it and there are no other choices which god has not allowed us to know.

I think I read somewhere that evil is simply the absense of good. Thus evil is the absense of God and not the presence of a part of God. Kind of like how darkness is the absense of light and cold is the absense of heat.

Why were we given eye lids? To open our eyes. :)

If God created "good", he also created "evil", since they cannot exist without eachother.

And that's being black and white. Good and Evil are subjective.

When I was in seventh grade I sat beside this girl in English who always signed her papers "Satin". One day I asked her why she wrote that on her papers, and she said, "Cuz I'm like the devil, and stuff. I'm cool," and I'm all like, "Dude, "Satan" is spelled with an 'a'. You've been signing your stuff "Satin", like the fabric. Now everyone think's you're a prostitute. Way to go." Then she got all embarrassed. I think she might have cried.

Think of Evil not so much as a presence of bad things, but a lack of presence of good things in a universe that has a nature that digresses.

So good and evil exists even when God doesn't?

Your comment is inherently flawed because evil doesn't "exist" just as darkness does not "exist". It is only the lack of light that causes darkness.

all you people that think its funny to say you believe in and want to be a part of evil or satan are completely fukced, imho. I believe in evil, but I don't want anything to do with it. Think about the essence of what evil is, why it is called evil. You really want to be apart of that? If you do, you should be shot on sight. No good for community or society. Throw you away.
